Lady Spartan forward Courtney McCutchan scored a game-high 23 points, with 15 points coming in the first half.<\/p>\n
The Rams were held under 10 points in each quarter as bad shot selection and multiple turnovers in the first half led to their defeat.<\/p>\n
Rams guard Kathleen Wong led the team with nine points with five coming in the third quarter.\u00a0 The five points in the period were all of Temple City\u2019s points.<\/p>\n
La Canada was able to use a 10-2 run at the end of the first half to head into the break with a 22-point lead.<\/p>\n
The biggest concern for the Lady Spartans was a possible injury to Shannon Denney after she appeared to have landed on a Temple City defender.<\/p>\n
The second half saw the La Canada\u2019s reserves come in and continue to dominate defensively as they held the Rams to nine points.<\/p>\n
The Lady Spartans would finish on an 11-4 run to end the game, which was punctuated by Kelly Stewart\u2019s fifteen-foot jumper to close out the scoring.<\/p>\n
With the victory, La Canada remains unbeaten in the Rio Hondo League.\u00a0 Temple City is still searching for their first win in league play.<\/p>\n
