1. Augie Garrido, the winningest coach in college baseball history,\u00a0is out after 20 seasons at Texas. Garrido\u00a0had 1,975 victories dating back\u00a0to 1969. He won\u00a0five College World Series titles, three with Cal State Fullerton and two with Texas.<\/p>\n

2. Corey Seager belts a three-run home run as the\u00a0Dodgers blank the Cubs 5-0.\u00a0Even though Jake Arrieta didn’t get the loss, it’s\u00a0the first time the Cubs have a lost a game that\u00a0 Arrieta started since July 2015 – 23 straight.<\/p>\n

3. Former West Covina\/Philadelphia Eagles defensive back Walter Thurmond retired\u00a0from the NFL after six seasons. Thurmond spent four years with the Seattle Seahawks, one with the New York Giants and last year with Philadelphia.\u00a0Thurmond went to Oregon\u00a0after graduating from West Covina.<\/p>\n

4. The Dodgers recall Julio Urias from the minor leagues to replace lefthander Alex Wood who was put on the disabled list with left elbow soreness.<\/p>\n
