(Carson) –\u00a0The Galaxy and Colorado battled to a 0-0 tie Wednesday night before 21, 884 at StubHub Center. It was the seventh draw of the season for LA.<\/p>\n

Galaxy goalkeeper\u00a0Brian Rowe\u00a0kept the Rapids in check early making a great stop on\u00a0Colorado’s Marlon Hairston who was on a break away in the 31st minute.<\/p>\n

Rowe made another nice grab near the end of the half to keep Colorado at bay.\u00a0The Rapids\u00a0had three shots on goal compared to just one\u00a0for the Galaxy in the first half.<\/p>\n

In the second half,\u00a0the Galaxy’s Jack McBean missed an opportunity as he fired one high\u00a0over the cross bar in the 49th minute.<\/p>\n

Rowe made\u00a0another fine save on a blast from Colorado in the 60th minute.<\/p>\n

Steven Gerrard replaced Baggio Husidic\u00a0in the 61st minute. Giovani dos Santos\u00a0had a shot off of a cross\u00a0but booted it up and over into the stands in the 64th.<\/p>\n

Colorado’s Michael Azira\u00a0received a yellow card after literally tackling Gerrard who was loose on a break away in the 75th minute.<\/p>\n

Nigel de Jong had a chance\u00a0in the 80th minute but his shot was\u00a0saved by Rapids’ goalkeeper\u00a0Zac MacMath.<\/p>\n

Alan Gordon replaced Sebastian Lletget in the 87th as he tried to provide a spark\u00a0but still LA\u00a0failed to put anything across.<\/p>\n

Three minutes of additional time were added at the end of regulation, but neither team could\u00a0break through.<\/p>\n

The Galaxy was playing without Gyasi Zardes and Robbie Keane who are both playing for their national teams. Also Robbie Rogers was out with an injury.<\/p>\n

“I thought overall it was a hard fought game.\u00a0We played better in the second half then in the first,”\u00a0said Galaxy head coach Bruce Arena.<\/p>\n

Arena was also happy with Rowe’s play. “He made two or three very good saves. He was important,” Arena said.<\/p>\n

The Galaxy\u00a0is now 5-3-7 with the tie while the Rapids record moved to\u00a09-2-5.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
