2. The Chicago Cubs acquire reliever Aroldis\u00a0Chapman from the New York Yankees for four players including elite prospect,\u00a0shortstop Gleyber Torres.<\/p>\n

3. Cleveland Cavaliers head coach Tyronn Lue agrees to a five-year, $35 million extension.<\/p>\n

4. The Miami Heat signed guard Dion Waiters\u00a0to a one-year, $2.9 million deal.<\/p>\n

5. Portland Trailblazers guard C.J. McCollum agreed to a four-year, $106 million contract extension.<\/p>\n

6. Forward Amar’e Stoudemire\u00a0signed a contract with the New York Knicks and then announced his retirement. Stoudemire played for\u00a0Phoenix, New York, Dallas and Miami during a 14 year NBA career.<\/p>\n

7. The Toronto Blue Jays acquire Melvin Upton Jr. and cash from the San Diego Padres.\u00a0Upton is currently hitting .256 with 16 home runs and 45 RBI.<\/p>\n

8.\u00a0The Seattle Sounders fired head coach Sigi Schmid Tuesday. Schmid is the only coach Seattle has\u00a0ever had in its\u00a0eight-year history. The Sounders are currently 6-12-2\u00a0and in ninth place in the Western Conference, just one point ahead of last place\u00a0Houston.<\/p>\n

9. On this day in 1993 New York Mets pitcher Anthony Young ends his 27 game losing streak.<\/p>\n
