Big night for Brett Clemetson in his debut for the Chargers.<\/p><\/div>\n

(Covina) – Brett Clemetson threw six touchdown passes (three of them to Jermaine Braddock) to lead Charter Oak to a 44-22 rout of Northview at Covina District Field Thursday night to kick off the 2016 campaign.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Charter Oak jumped out to a 14 -0 lead less than three\u00a0minutes into the game and was up 30-9 at halftime. Northview’s Antwaun Ayers fumbled the opening kick off and the Chargers took over at the Viking 15 yard line. Two plays later Clemetson hit Braddock for a 15-yard score and the Chargers were off and running.<\/p>\n

After forcing Northview to punt, Charter Oak scored again two minutes later when Clemetson connected with Brian Casteel for a 26-yard touchdown for a 14-0 advantage. There was 9:25 left in the first quarter but the Chargers were never threatened again. A couple more scores and a safety and the\u00a0lead was 21 at the break and that was all she wrote.<\/p>\n

\"Antwaun<\/a>

Antwaun Ayers saw paydirt twice for the Vikings.<\/p><\/div>\n

Ayers redeemed himself later for the Vikings with\u00a0two touchdown catches\u00a0including an 88-yard score just before halftime when he outran the Charter Oak secondary.<\/p>\n

The Vikings\u00a0tried to get back in it\u00a0as they scored first in the second half on a Steven Comstock touchdown pass to Ayers to cut the lead to two touchdowns but Charter Oak always had an answer.\u00a0Brian Casteel, an Arizona commit\u00a0also had a pair of touchdown catches\u00a0creating a one-two punch with Braddock that the Northview D was unable to stop.<\/p>\n

** Clemetson final stats: 16-26-311 yards, 6 TD.<\/p>\n

**\u00a0Casteel\u00a0had seven catches for 137 yards and two touchdowns of 26 and 49 yards.<\/p>\n

** Braddock had six receptions for 149 yards and three scores. His touchdown catches were for\u00a015, 72 and 11 yards.<\/p>\n

** Northview’s Comstock\u00a0threw for 385 yards and three scores but was hurt by two interceptions.<\/p>\n

** Ayers, who is receiving D1 offers, caught 8 passes for 208 yards and two scores.<\/p>\n

** Brian Robles, who\u00a0caught three passes for 36 yards for Northview, is the brother\u00a0of former Northview quarterback Oscar Robles.<\/p>\n

** The Vikings scored a late touchdown on an 80-yard touchdown pass from\u00a0Comstock\u00a0to Frankie Simental to round out the scoring.<\/p>\n

** Comstock went down in the first quarter\u00a0with an apparent knee injury\u00a0but returned the next series and played the rest of the way.<\/p>\n

** After Comstock\u00a0hit Ayers to cut the\u00a0lead to 30-16 early in the third, Clemetson hooked up with Braddock for a 72 yards to\u00a0stifle any Viking momentum.<\/p>\n
