(Burbank) – The Jerry Chou era at Monrovia did not get off to the start the M-Town faithful would have hoped for as Burbank proved that last season\u2019s 38-20 was no fluke. The Bulldogs didn\u2019t give up an offensive touchdown en route to a 33-7 win.<\/p>\n

Darnell Williams ran for two scores and Forest Fajardo put on a clinic in the first half scoring on a pass from Guy Gibbs and returning an interception for a score to help lead Burbank. Williams sealed the game late a 16-yard touchdown run with 4:02 remaining in the game.<\/p>\n

After Fajardo scored in the first quarter on Gibbs 35-yard touchdown completion, Michael Washington answered with a 94-yard kickoff return to send the Wildcat fans into a frenzy.<\/p>\n

*** Monrovia started Richie Schroeder at quarterback but was replaced at halftime by Nathaniel Elijah-hall. Elijah-hall lasted three plays before being substituted by Trevor McPherson.<\/p>\n

*** Washington finished the night with 244 total yards (55 receiving, 152 kickoff yards, and 35 punt)<\/p>\n

*** Alfonso Castillo ran for 52 yards on 16 carries.<\/p>\n

*** Wildcats struggled offensively with 122 yards. Three passes were intercepted and one fumble was lost. Their quarterbacks were sacked twice in the game.<\/p>\n

*** Monrovia\u2019s defense forced one fumble and sacked Gibbs twice in the game.<\/p>\n

*** Gibbs finished the night going 20-of-30 for 145 yards and one touchdown. His strike late in the first quarter helped guide the Bulldogs to the win.<\/p>\n

*** Fajardo put on a show on offense and defense. Offensively, he finished with nine catches for 70 yards and touchdown. Defensively, two interceptions and returned one for a touchdown with the score tied at 7.<\/p>\n

*** Burbank wore down the Wildcat defense by rushing for a combined 34 times for 181 yards. Williams ran for 70 yards and scored twice. Joseph Miller ran for 34 yards on five attempts and scored once. Nicolas Warren ran for 74 yards on 16 carries.<\/p>\n

*** Warren and Jake Kelley each had a sack. Miller also had an interception.<\/p>\n
