1. Yasiel Puig\u00a0was claimed\u00a0by an “unknown team” off of waivers but the Dodgers won’t trade Puig to that team\u00a0and he will remain with\u00a0the organization for now.<\/p>\n

2. The Pittsburgh\u00a0Steelers claim quarterback Zach Mettenberger off waivers from the San Diego Chargers.<\/p>\n

3. The NFL has cleared Julius Peppers, Clay Matthews and James Harrison in Al Jazeera\u00a0PED investigation.<\/p>\n

4. Former Monrovia\/St. Francis quarterback Miles Bryant received Player of the Game\u00a0honors for Alemany in Week Zero.\u00a0Bryant completed\u00a011-16 for 251 yards and 4 touchdowns with no interceptions in the Warriors 42-12 win over Garfield. Bryant also rushed for 66 yards.<\/p>\n

5. 28 of 30 MLB\u00a0teams sent representatives\u00a0to see Tim Tebow’s workout at USC on Tuesday. Only the Chicago Cubs and Oakland A’s\u00a0were not represented.<\/p>\n
