On this date in 2001, running back Jose Samano led Rosemead to a 16-0 victory over Gladstone. The game was played on a Thursday at Citrus College, it was the debut of quarterback Josh Vasquez (very underrated in Mead history) and it put the Panthers on the road to a 10-3 season that ended with a semifinal loss to Charter Oak.<\/p>\n

My teammates suck and they need to play better. Hopefully, I get a new contract next season or get my butt traded out of here.\u201d<\/p>\n

I know it\u2019s forbidden\u2026but these players have to be thinking that. I know when I had a good game and my team lost, I never felt THAT bad\u2026I\u2019m sure Dozier the Dozierian has had some similar musings.<\/p>\n

Should my next line be, \u201cHey, I\u2019m just keeping it real.\u201d

Speaking of Charter Oak\u2026The Chargers play Glendora this week. The two teams have an interesting two & two thing going\u2026CO has won the last two meetings. Before that, the Tartans won two meetings which were preceded by two Charger victories.<\/p>\n

I don\u2019t want to upset people in G-Town\u2026but I think CO is going to blast them this week.<\/p>\n

If the Philadelphia Eagles can get a number one and a number four for Sam Bradford\u2026I should be able to get at least a number two from the Trib for Peterson\u2026Perhaps a conditional pick for Rich Whittington\u2026<\/p>\n

These schools met in the 2004\u00a0Division 7 (I\u2019m sick of Roman numerals) Finals\u2026WestCo won the title, the Huskies won the league match\u2026Since the demise of the old San Antonio League at the end of the 2009 season, the Bulldogs have dominated this series by winning five of the last six meetings.<\/p>\n

Did you know the last time a Rams team based in Los Angeles (not Anaheim) lost to the San Francisco 49ers on Monday night was in 1976 at the Coliseum? Frisco\u2019s Gold Rush of Cedrick Hardman, Jimmy Webb, Cleveland Elam, and Tommy Hart beat the snot out of James Harris and won, 16-0.<\/p>\n

Did you know the last time a Rams team based in Los Angeles (not Anaheim) lost to the San Francisco 49ers, in Frisco, was on November 6, 1966, at Kezar Stadium? San Fran won, 21-13.<\/p>\n

The game was tied 7-7 at the half\u2026but the 49ers took the lead 14-7 in the third quarter when John Brodie connected with rookie tight end Kent Kramer on a 3-yard touchdown pass.<\/p>\n

I know we\u2019re not supposed to root for any one team\u2026but I\u2019d really like to see Eric MacIntyre get a win for El Monte\u2026It has nothing to do with rooting for the old alma mater\u2026I bear no animosity towards Azusa\u2026But a Lions victory over the Aztecs on Thursday night could turn the conversation surrounding the program from \u201cThey Suck\u201d to \u201cCould they compete for a playoff spot in the MVL?\u201d\u2026Wouldn\u2019t that be refreshing?<\/p>\n

In 15 all-times meetings, El Monte holds an 8-7 lead. Going back to 2003 they\u2019ve won five of the last six matches\u2026The only loss? First round of the playoffs in 2014.<\/p>\n

Last Add San Antonio League:<\/strong> It might not sound like much now, but from 2002 thru 2009 it dominated San Gabriel Valley football. It featured South Hills, West Covina, Craig Snyder\u2019s Rowland Raiders, and Jerry Person\u2019s Walnut Mustangs\u2026Of course, Nogales was around to keep everyone humble.<\/p>\n

But\u2026for safety reasons\u2026never mention Nogales and the evening of October 6, 2005, around Arroyo\u2026and life will go well for you\u2026<\/p>\n

Temple City\/NFL alum Kent Kramer<\/p><\/div>\n

First Add Temple City Rams:<\/strong> That tight end who caught the 3-yard touchdown pass from John Brodie for the 49ers in 1966 against the Rams\u2026was Kent Kramer.<\/p>\n

Kramer who played for Bob Hitchcock at Temple City (Minnesota University) spent eight seasons in the NFL for the 49ers, Vikings, Eagles, and the expansion Saints. He caught 45 passes for 576 yards and eight touchdowns.<\/p>\n

Temple City\u2019s only other NFL player was former Rams\/Broncos\/Chargers linebacker, Steve Busick.<\/p>\n

Last Add Temple City:<\/strong> The Rams face Alhambra this week and hold an all-time advantage of 14-10. This series has truly been two different stories. The first is TC going 11-1, the second is the Moors going 9-3.<\/p>\n

The teams first meeting was in 1973 and Alhambra was victim number 46 of the Rams historic 46-game winning streak.<\/p>\n
