8.) On September 16, 1981, welterweight boxer \u201cSugar\u201d Ray Leonard knocks out Thomas Hearns in the 13th round to unify boxing\u2019s middleweight title. Leonard was behind on all three judges\u2019 scorecards and fighting with one eye closed when he delivered a right hand to his opponent\u2019s head that sent Hearns crashing to the canvas.<\/p>\n

9.) On this date in 1974 John Hadl threw a 19-yard touchdown pass to Bob Klein and Cullen Bryant returned a kickoff 84-yards for a touchdown as the Rams defeated the Denver Broncos 17-10 in Mile High Stadium. In his first four seasons with the Rams Bryant, who passed away in 2009, returned three kickoffs for touchdowns.<\/p>\n
