After Glendora went three and out\u00a0West Covina set up on the Tartan 45 thanks to a short punt.<\/p>\n<p>West Covina\u00a0then churned out an 11-play\u00a0drive with Northey\u00a0finding\u00a0the endzone again. This time he was on the receiving end of\u00a0an eight-yard pass from\u00a0Joseph Barcena and with 5:38 left in the first\u00a0quarter it was 14-0 Bulldogs.<\/p>\n<p>Glendora&#8217;s\u00a0drive stalled on the West Covina 13-yard line\u00a0on the next drive and Gabriel Dunkle\u00a0booted a 37-yard field goal.\u00a0On the ensuing series\u00a0West Covina\u00a0went 80 yards on\u00a013 plays mainly\u00a0behind a sold running attack.\u00a0Andrew Rodriguez went right up the gut\u00a0of the Glendora defense for a seven-yard\u00a0TD run for a 21-3 lead.\u00a0a 31-yard pass\u00a0from Barcena to Devin Dixson highlighted the\u00a0drive.<\/p>\n<p>Glendora got back into the game before halftime as\u00a0Dunkle kicked a 37-yard\u00a0field goal and Jacob Gonzalez\u00a0hauled in a 15-yard touchdown pass\u00a0from Bryce Wooldridge. That touchdown was set up\u00a0when\u00a0Barcena was sacked and stripped\u00a0and the Tartans\u00a0took over at the Bulldog 15. Gonzalez\u00a0hauled in the TD pass on the first play of the series.<\/p>\n<p>Brandon Gonzalez\u00a0kicked\u00a0a 34-yard field goal just before\u00a0halftime for a 24-13 lead at the break.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0Bulldogs defense shut down Glendora the rest of the way.\u00a0West Covina added one more score in the second half.\u00a0With 7:43\u00a0left in the third quarter\u00a0Barcena\u00a0and\u00a0Steven Cantero\u00a0hit on a big play\u00a0for a 57-yard touchdown.\u00a0Cantero caught\u00a0a pass from Barcena\u00a0and escaped down the\u00a0left sideline\u00a0behind the Glendora secondary.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0Tartan possessions in the second half\u00a0ended in turnover, punt and two fourth down stops. Meanwhile\u00a0West Covina burned up the clock\u00a0with its ground attack.<\/p>\n<p>Ramiro led the attack with 86 yards rushing\u00a0, Northey had 47 and Rodriguez 38. West Covina\u00a0had six different\u00a0players carry the ball.<\/p>\n<p>Woolridge\u00a0threw for 135 yards and rushed for 103 for the Tartans.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s what we do and what we&#8217;ve been good at,&#8221; said West Covina head coach Mike Maggiore\u00a0of the running game. &#8220;It&#8217;s kind of by committee right now.\u00a0Everybody does\u00a0things\u00a0a little bit differently\u00a0and they complement\u00a0each other.\u00a0Ramiro did a really good job and he&#8217;s 140 pounds and\u00a0Northey is a bruiser.\u00a0So they needed to step up and they have.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>With the victory West Covina improved to\u00a03-2 and while Glendora fell to 1-4.
