Antwuan Ayers scored two big touchdowns and picked off a pass<\/p><\/div>\n

(Covina) – Antwuan\u00a0Ayers scored\u00a0 twice on\u00a0big plays and\u00a0Steven Comstock threw a pair of touchdown passes\u00a0to lead Northview to a 38-6 rout of\u00a0Chino Friday night in the first round of the\u00a0of\u00a0the Division\u00a08 CIF playoffs at Covina District Field.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Ayers landed\u00a0two huge punches\u00a0on the Cowboys, the second one\u00a0looked like the knock out blow.\u00a0On the Vikings first series on third down Comstock lofted a bomb\u00a0down the left sideline that Ayers\u00a0leaped up and came down with\u00a0for a 74-yard touchdown.<\/p>\n

After Alex Calderon\u00a0booted a 32-yad field\u00a0goal, Ayers\u00a0made another big play.\u00a0He fielded\u00a0a Chino punt at the\u00a020-yard line,\u00a0shook off a tackle,\u00a0and out ran the\u00a0Cowboy coverage for 80 yards and a score to put Northview\u00a0up 17-0. There were\u00a0still over\u00a0three minutes left in the first quarter, but the feeling in the Stadium was that it was over.<\/p>\n

The Vikes upped it to\u00a031-0\u00a0by halftime. The Vikings took advantage of a short field taking over at the Chino 44\u00a0and\u00a0finding the end zone on ten plays. Comstock capped the march with a two-yard run.<\/p>\n

Comstock threw his second touchdown pass\u00a0of the night on the next series. On fourth down\u00a0Comstock fired a strike over the middle\u00a0that Jimmy\u00a0Amezquita pulled down\u00a0in the end zone for a 29-yard score with 35 seconds left in the half.<\/p>\n

Chino had a chance to score early in the third\u00a0quarter but Carlos Salcedo intercepted Cowboy quarterback Angel Herrera in the end zone.<\/p>\n

Herrera was also picked off\u00a0in the first half by\u00a0Ayers.<\/p>\n

The Vikings added one\u00a0more score when the Cowboys went for it on fourth and five from their own nine-yard line. The Northview defense came up big and made the stop at the one-yard line.\u00a0On the first play from scrimmage Comstock\u00a0stormed in for the one-yard score to make it 38-0.<\/p>\n

Chino\u00a0finally got on the board in garbage time\u00a0when Herrera\u00a0found Willie Morris\u00a0for a 32-yard touchdown pass.<\/p>\n

Ayers finished\u00a0with seven catches for 164 yards and a touchdown along with the punt return for a\u00a0touchdown and\u00a0the interception.<\/p>\n

Comstock threw for 234 yards and\u00a0two touchdowns and ran for 42 yards and a pair of scores.<\/p>\n

Herrera only\u00a0threw the ball six times with two interceptions and a touchdown.\u00a0Andrew Almazon\u00a0was the workhorse on the ground for Chino with\u00a033 carries for 119 yards.<\/p>\n

The Vikings\u00a0advanced to the second round\u00a0of the playoffs where they will host Burbank next Friday\u00a0night. The Cowboys finished 4-7 overall.<\/p>\n
