Arroyo got to practice on Thanksgiving<\/p><\/div>\n

(El Monte) – Arroyo had the privilege\u00a0of practicing on Thanksgiving this year.\u00a0That’s one of the perks of advancing to the semi finals.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Knights, (11-1), had to overcome a lot of obstacles this year to get where they are now. Injuries and\u00a0other player missteps\u00a0caused Coach Jim Singiser\u00a0to adjust and shuffle\u00a0the deck several times during the season. Ernesto Camacho took over\u00a0at quarterback after starting the season as a backup and has done a\u00a0remarkable job of leading Arroyo to the semis.\u00a0Singiser has also had to make several position\u00a0changes on defense as well.<\/p>\n

Friday night\u00a0the Knights get Segerstrom, which finished 11-1 overall\u00a0and 4-1 in the Golden West League behind Santa Ana.\u00a0What do we know about Segerstrom?<\/p>\n

“Well we know they like to run the ball and they run\u00a0the Wing T.\u00a0A lot of what they do is similar\u00a0to South El Monte,” Singiser said. “But they have several players\u00a0that can run the ball and they have bigger kids. It’s going to be a battle.”<\/p>\n

Kick off is set for\u00a07:30 p.m.\u00a0Friday night at B.L. Bergstrom Stadium at Arroyo.<\/p>\n
