South El Monte couldn’t contain the Rancho Christian ground game.<\/p><\/div>\n

(South El Monte) – The South El Monte Eagles 2016 season came to an end Friday night at the hands of the Rancho Christian Eagles 42-28 in the semi-final of the CIF Division 13 playoffs at The Swamp on the campus of South El Monte High School.<\/p>\n

Sal Tovar was solid in the loss to Rancho Christian.<\/p><\/div>\n

Rancho Christian established their ground dominance early, when junior RB<\/p>\n

Jaden Schieberl scored on a 36 yard TD run with 9:52 remaining in the\u00a0opening quarter. Schieberl, who had 14 carries for 240 yards, found the end zone three more times\u2026scoring on runs of 6, 47, and 69 yards. Schieberl was complemented by sophomore\u00a0Malosi Napoleon, who carried the ball 14 times for 122 yards, scoring on\u00a0runs of 15 and 31 yards.<\/p>\n

South El Monte was led by a trio of underclassmen. Junior\u00a0Sal Tovar opened the SEM scoring with a 64 yard\u00a0run and\u00a0Junior\u00a0Daniel Olmos then found junior\u00a0Richard Nava for a 36- yard score. Olmos\u00a0also scored\u00a0a pair of touchdowns on runs of 1 and 36 yards, respectively.<\/p>\n

South El Monte finishes their season with a record of 11-2, 5-1 in the Mission Valley League. Rancho Christian, 11-2, 5-0 in the South Valley League, advances to the CIF Division 13 Championship. Game location and time will be announced.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
