Jarod Lucas led Los Altos with 31<\/p><\/div>\n

(Hacienda Heights) – Los Altos broke open a close game\u00a0in the fourth quarter\u00a0outscoring Walnut 23-11\u00a0to beat the Mustangs 70-57 Friday night in a Hacienda League contest.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Jarod Lucas\u00a0led the way with 31 points including nine in the final frame.\u00a0Lucas had 15\u00a0of the Conquerors 29 points\u00a0in the first half\u00a0as Walnut led by one at the break.\u00a0He hit three three pointers\u00a0overall and was ten for ten from the free throw line.<\/p>\n

Entering the third quarter\u00a0Los Altos was clinging to a one point lead. Tied at 48, the Conqs got a three from Julian Lopez and a bucket from Lucas to go on a 7-0 run to go up 55-48. From there they never looked back and\u00a0extended\u00a0the lead. Walnut tried to foul but Los Altos was deadly at the line in the fourth. Lucas was three for three,\u00a0Bryant Howling, Matt Arellano and Lopez were all two for two.<\/p>\n

Walnut led 13-12 after one\u00a0as Ryan Dai had six points and\u00a0Eli Ramos had a pair of baskets. Walnut maintained\u00a0the one point lead at the half\u00a0at 30-29. Dai had eight points in the quarter\u00a0and Agassi Goantara knocked down a three.<\/p>\n

Ryan Dai kept the Mustangs in the hunt with 28 points.<\/p><\/div>\n

The teams traded blows in the third quarter\u00a0before the Conqs emerged\u00a0up by one.\u00a0Dai kept the Mustangs in the game\u00a0with three from the land of plenty\u00a0and nine points in the third.<\/p>\n

Los Altos\u00a0was finally able to pull away in the fourth. Dai led Walnut\u00a0with 28 points, while\u00a0Goantara had 12 and\u00a0Ramos added six. After Lucas the scoring dropped off for Los Altos. Lopez was also in double figures with 10,\u00a0Arellano had 7 and Cameron Martin added five.<\/p>\n

With the win Los Altos improved to\u00a013-3 overall and 2-0 in league. Walnut dropped to 12-6 and 1-1.<\/p>\n
