Montebello’s Jonathan Olguin- All Mid Valley Linebacker<\/p><\/div>\n

On defense we went with the traditional 4-3 set.\u00a0We based our selections\u00a0not solely on numbers but also on what we saw\u00a0and on the opinions of coaches.\u00a0Since the players are interchangeable\u00a0we didn’t mention specific positions for\u00a0our defensive line,\u00a0linebackers or secondary.\u00a0Here is our All Mid Valley\u00a0Defensive\u00a0Team\u00a0for 2016.<\/p>\n

DL: Jayson Jones – Los Altos:<\/strong>\u00a013 sacks and 87 total tackles for a solid Conqueror defensive front.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

DL: Josh Cooper – Downey:<\/strong>\u00a036 tackles for loss; 89 total.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

DL: Brandon Gonzalez – Montebello:<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>Dominated up front playing\u00a0nose guard and defensive\u00a0end.<\/p>\n

DL: Cedric Dashiell – Buena Park:<\/strong>\u00a022 of his 115 tackles were sacks.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

LB:\u00a0Kobe Quiroga<\/strong> – Northview:<\/strong>\u00a0Led a stout Viking D with 114 total\u00a0tackles.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

LB: Jonathan Olguin – Montebello:<\/strong>\u00a0120 total tackles for an Oiler defense\u00a0that only allowed\u00a0an average of\u00a09.2 points per game.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n

LB: Jake Kelly – Burbank:<\/strong>\u00a0115 total tackles\u00a0for the leader of the Bulldogs D.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

DB: Elijah Hicks – La Mirada:<\/strong> 5 picks, 10 touchdowns and\u00a040 tackles; next stop- Cal.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

DB: Elijah Gates – Buena Park: <\/strong>A pure athlete; will be\u00a0at UCLA in the Fall.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

DB:\u00a0Daniel Scott: – St. Francis:<\/strong>\u00a0Two way star; 688 yards receiving and 5 interceptions, 70 total tackles as a DB.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

DB: Yezdan Marquez – Arroyo:<\/strong> Had\u00a0eight interceptions for the Division 12 CIF champions.<\/p>\n
