Good Friends. Kalani Falcon HC Shannon Hirai and Alhambra HC Steve Gewecke<\/p><\/div>\n

(Alhambra)- The Alhambra Moors scored a pair of victories over the Kalani Falcons Tuesday afternoon with an 11-3 win in the opener and a 12-2 W in the nightcap.<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel a lot better about our offense right now,\u201d said Moors HC Steve Gewecke. \u201cWe took some good swings today, especially in the second game.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the second game Alhambra\u2019s Vai Peko went two for three, two scored runs, and added three runs batted in. Juan Morales also went two for three, with a double, two runs scored, and a run batted in.<\/p>\n

Senior Greg Saldate also went four innings in the second game, allowing just one hit and striking out three.<\/p>\n

\u201cGreg is making us feel real good about the way he\u2019s going,\u201d said Gewecke.<\/p>\n

In the opener southpaw Jonathan Beltran went a solid two innings, throwing 22-pitches, he\u2019s expected to be the starter when the Moors travel to Bell Gardens on Friday to open up Almont League play.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis has been a good experience,\u201d said Kalani HC Shannon Hirai. \u201cWe wish we could have been more competitive.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Falcons will face Monrovia tomorrow, then Beverly Hills on Thursday, before driving out to Las Vegas.<\/p>\n

In the southland they\u2019ve experienced great baseball weather, gone to Magic Mountain, and an earthquake.<\/p>\n

\u201cI woke up this morning and I look up and I saw my roof moving,\u201d said Hirai. \u201cI had to check out the news, and the kids, I\u2019m tired right now.<\/p>\n
