Two Division 3 powerhouses knocking heads that would have been huge for the local football landscape. Rancho Verde ruined all of that however by knocking off the Chargers last Friday night in the semi finals. St. Francis seems to have hit its stride at the right time. The Golden Knights pummeled El Toro 52-17 last week as Darius Perrantes and company continue to light up the scoreboard. Rancho Verde will be a big time test and won’t go down easy. But in the end St. Francis gets it done. Golden Knights will raise the banner for the first time since 1964.

St. Francis 38 Rancho Verde 31

**

DIV 11

Katella (Orange #1) at Covina (11-2, Valle Vista #1T) (Covina District Field)

Covina is on a roll. The Colts racked up 42 points to beat a solid Westminster team and then 57 on the road to beat explosive Culver City on the road in the semis. Nin Burns II is leading the charge with his legs and his arm while Erik Cuellar is running roughshod though defenses. Katella is a formidable opponent. The Knights overcame a three touchdown deficit on the road to beat Arcadia. But this is Covina’s year. Colts win their first title since 1995.

Covina 35 Katella 28

**

DIV 5

Paraclete (12-1, Gold Coast #1) at Moorpark (11-2, Camino #2)

Dean Herrington wins his second title in his two years at the helm. Cajon has won 11 straight and has racked up 146 points in three games in the playoffs. Downey isn’t too shabby either. The Vikings dominated Capistrano Valley last week 41-21 and have scored 137 points in three post season games. If Baraq Ross can have a big game on the ground and the defense can make enough stops Downey can pull it off. The home field advantage doesn’t hurt either.
