(Hacienda Heights) – Noah Rodriguez threw for 150 yards and a touchdown to lead Alhambra to a 14-6 win over Rowland Friday night and improve to 2-0 on the year.
\nRodriguez’ 70-yard bomb to Raul Cortez gave the Moors a 14-0 lead in the second quarter and Alhambra held on the rest of the way.<\/p>\n
Kody Chuang ran for 61 yards on 12 carries to lead the ground attack.<\/p>\n
Rowland got on the board with 5:05 left when Nire Robinson scored on a two-yard run. The Raiders got the ball back for one last shot but Cortez picked off Andre Calderon in the endzone to preserve the victory. Robinson rushed for 121 yards and Calderon threw for 155 in a losing cause.<\/p>\n
Rowland had more total yards than Alhambra 292 to 276. Rowland is now 0-1.<\/p>\n
