Whittier Christian DC Peter Karavedas has decided to stay with Heralds in 2010<\/p><\/div>\n

Whittier Christian Defensive Coordinator Peter Karavedas has pulled his name out of the running for the head coaching vacancy at Temple City High School.<\/p>\n

\u201cMeeting the people at the school and Athletic Director John VanDeVeere was a great experience, they were really great to me,\u201d said Karavedas. \u201cBut with so much uncertainity regarding a teaching position, my wife and I felt it was best for us to stay at Whittier Christian.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Heralds, under HC Sergio Gradilla, are expected to be one of front runners in the highly competitive Mid-Valley Division.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe love Whittier Christian and are really excited about this coming season,\u201d said Karavedas an Azusa Pacific Alum.<\/p>\n

It is safe to say the TC options have narrowed down some.<\/p>\n

The Cougars (ABA),Nuggets, Nets, Clippers, Spurs, Pacers, 76ers, Pistons, Knicks, the Bobcats…plus UCLA and Kansas at the college level…Larry Brown wears me out…He\u2019s had almost as many stops as Gypsy John Tuttle.<\/p>\n

Last Add Karavedas: I would be really excited too with both Jeff Worthy and Rudy Robles returning as part of my defense.<\/p>\n

The nice thing about the NFL Draft is its held the third week of April, and by the time all the dealing is done its May and \u2018official\u2019 spring workouts are ready to begin.<\/p>\n

Is it fair to bag on the people who live on Facebook playing Mafia-Farm-Town-In-Your-Aquarium when I constantly fight the urge to spend daily eternities watching the NFL Channel?<\/p>\n

After reading \u201cMeat Market\u201d and seeing how Ed Orgeron\u2019s staff at Ole Miss had Dexter McCluster already in school and contributing as a freshman, I thought it was interesting to see how desperate they were to land Joe McKnight who ended up signing with USC.<\/p>\n

A couple of years later, McCluster goes in second round, 36th overall to the Kansas City Chiefs. McKnight, with all of the exposure at USC, didn\u2019t go until the fourth round, number 112 overall.<\/p>\n

Last Add Worthy: The Heralds big man, with an offer on the table from Southern Methodist and his status rocketing, made a excellent impression at the Nike Camp over the weekend. He will be attending the UCLA camp for linemen this summer.<\/p>\n

I took some heat last week for not rolling with Diamond Ranch in the new Hacienda League. First off, Roddy Layton is a great coach. He plays a murderous schedule, and always has his talent ready for league and a post-season run.<\/p>\n

But this year a tough West Covina team, along with Rowland, Walnut, and Diamond Bar have been added to the league mix. Gus Viramontes, Elisha Henley, and Amari Staten are gone.<\/p>\n

The Panthers have a great offensive lineman in Omar Sanchez returning (6\u20192\u201d 270 LB) and talent in Aaron Almond, Jacoby Carter, and kicker Jeff Stamps. Add to this a non-league schedule made up of Santa Margarita, Damien, Elsinore, and Chaffey…and you know its not going to be easy.<\/p>\n

Can somebody tell me who is playing quarterback for DR? That\u2019s a piece of information I couldn\u2019t get my hands on.<\/p>\n

Tomorrow will be the one year anniversary of Fanview Lite…The greatest thing to happen to local sports since the shaved head…<\/p>\n

On this date a year ago Rosemead\u2019s Matt Koffler shot me an email wanting to know if I was still picking Arroyo in the Mission Valley League in 2009… I\u2019ll stick it to Koffler again… I\u2019m gonna pick the Panthers to win the MVL in 2010…<\/p>\n

(I expect an immediate \u2018thank you\u2019 from His Arroyo Baldness within 48 hours)<\/p>\n

My response back to Koffler last year was I never pick a league winner until after week ten…This is Peterson\u2019s Law Number One: \u201cNever pick a winner in print until after the outcome has been decided…\u201d<\/p>\n
