147 receiving yards in the Pacific League title game for Rolandis Whitener<\/p><\/div>\n

(Arcadia) The Crescenta Valley Falcons traveled to Arcadia Friday night with hopes for a win and with some help at least a part of the Pacific League title. The Apaches weren’t having any of it and trounced the Falcons 43-10 to stay unbeaten in league and capture the title.<\/p>\n

The Falcons got the ball to start the game and marched all the way down to the Arcadia 20 yard line. Looking at fourth and five, Crescenta Valley decided to go for it and came up short.<\/p>\n

Starting at their own 20, the Apaches only needed four plays to cover the 80 yards with Damarco Moorer scoring on a five-yard run. The touchdown was set up on a 58-yard strike from Dylan Guerra to Rolandis Whitener.<\/p>\n

Holding on to a 6-0 lead Arcadia put another seven play drive together down to the CV 22. When the drive stalled Christian Reyes came on to boot at 39-yard field goal to push the lead to 9-0.<\/p>\n

Moorer got his second touchdown on the night on a three yard run with 7:31 left in the first half to cap a five play drive. The drive was set up on a fumble by Daniel Cho at his own 22.<\/p>\n

The Falcons finally got on the board on their next play from scrimmage. Cole Doyle called his own number and outraced the Apache defense to paydirt.<\/p>\n

Arcadia answered the CV score on its next drive. Torey Brumfield scored on a four yard run that finished off a nine play, 66-yard drive.<\/p>\n

The Apaches extended the lead to 26-7 as time wound down in the first half. Reyes added a 29 yard field goal as the clock showed 0:00.<\/p>\n

Arcadia got the ball to start the second half and wasted no time lighting up the scoreboard. Guerra found Dylan Wright for a 38-yard strike and after the Reyes extra point, the Falcons found themselves down 33-7.<\/p>\n

It was Moorer again this time on defense to extend the lead to 40-7 as he stepped in front of a Doyle pass and raced 58-yards for the score.<\/p>\n

The teams traded field goals to end the game. A 28 yarder by Kevin McCollum and a 42 yarder by Reyes.<\/p>\n

Both teams will now await Sunday’s playoff selection pairings to see where they will end up next Friday.<\/p>\n
