As the Temple City Turns: The most recent piece of anonymous info passed on to me is… elements of the school board are now saying no teaching job, period, will be available next fall. Which, if true, means the next coach in the Home of the Camellias will most likely be a walk on.<\/p>\n

Which if true, sort of puts a damper on the top remaining candidate up for the job. I mean forgive the guy for wanting to put food on his family\u2019s table.<\/p>\n

Which if true means the current TC administration has had the rug pulled out from under them.<\/p>\n

Which a member of the Arcadia school system told me straight out last night would not surprise them in the least. \u201cThings aren\u2019t right over there.\u201d<\/p>\n

Whittier Christian will be in full effect tomorrow night on \u201cThe Mid Valley Sports Show\u201d: HC Sergio Gradilla, DT Jeff Worthy (number one overall in the Mid Valley Draft by the Rams—at least that GM new what he was doing), and three year starting quarterback Stephen Anderson.<\/p>\n

Also in studio will be \u201cThe Suave One\u201d, new San Gabriel wide receivers coach Matt Lopez.<\/p>\n

How soon until Temple City lines up against Arroyo?<\/p>\n

Really Last Add Temple City: As the city prepares to celebrate its 50th anniversary, it seems for most residents the highest priority is getting a new movie theater in town. I have no idea where they would put it… Maybe next to the book store… Oh wait, they don\u2019t have one of those either. No theater, no book store, no football HC… what is this the third world?<\/p>\n

I guess former NFL running back Corey Dillon, a very good running back, could be the poster boy for: \u201cYou don\u2019t have to be nice to play in the NFL\u201d… Him and Lawrence Phillips would make a heck of an penitentiary backfield….Art Schlicter could be the quarterback…. and Andre Rison could be the go-to receiver<\/p>\n

Good move by the New Orleans Saints in the re-signing of Darren Sharper, he can still play.<\/p>\n

One of the reasons why the Valle Vista League should soon be called the Wild Wild Vista (besides San Dimas and recent additions) is because of the work James Heggins has done at Baldwin Park.<\/p>\n

Coach Heggins, now headed into his sixth year as the HC, brings back plenty of talent. Including Wardell Crutchfield III, Mario Rodriguez, Jamal Overton, and Jose Franco.<\/p>\n

He\u2019s going to have to replace the talented Manny Salcedo (taken in 5th round by the Saints, 85th overall of Mid Valley Draft) at quarterback.<\/p>\n

The stats a year ago indicates Rodriguez, based on number of passes thrown, but junior-to-be Eric Robles could figure in as the guy. Especially because Rodriguez can do so many things. Of course using Crutchfield as the feature back would take a load of pressure off anyone lining up behind center.<\/p>\n

The Braves schedule was adjusted for the arrival of Nogales and Wilson into the league, but Bonita remains on the schedule and South Hills arrives. Heggins has gone 34-21 guiding his alma mater and picked up his first playoff win last post-season. This program, after some years in the wilderness, has been restablished and figures to be making noise for some time.<\/p>\n

Does it make me a bad person to root for the Jazz against the Lakers? Long live Thurl Bailey!<\/p>\n

The new San Marino football JV HC is former TC quarterback Riley Saxon, with his assistant being Rams alum Thomas Camerano.<\/p>\n
