{"id":66108,"date":"2019-02-08T23:00:01","date_gmt":"2019-02-09T06:00:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/midvalleysports.com\/?p=66108"},"modified":"2019-02-09T01:06:55","modified_gmt":"2019-02-09T08:06:55","slug":"torimarus-triples-top-rebels","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/midvalleysports.com\/?p=66108","title":{"rendered":"Torimaru&#8217;s Triples Top Rebels"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"attachment_66112\" style=\"width: 560px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/midvalleysports.com\/?attachment_id=66112\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-66112\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-66112\" class=\"size-full wp-image-66112\" src=\"http:\/\/midvalleysports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/brandon-Torimaru-e1549699511212.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"550\" height=\"733\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-66112\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Brandon Torimaru led the Rams with a game high 21 points.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>By Alex Gonzalez<\/p>\n<p>(Temple City) \u2014 Brandon Torimaru scored a game-high 21 points and Tag Folk collected 10 rebounds in Temple City\u2019s 49-36 win over Flintridge Prep in the opening round of the Division 4AA playoffs Friday night at Temple City High school.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cFeels good, feels good that we got the win on our home court,\u201d said Ram head coach Eric Chin. \u201cWe made some good shots when we needed them and made stops when we needed stops.\u201d<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Making those shots and forcing the stops was the reason why the Rams jumped to a quick 7-0 lead to open the quarter. Folk led the way for the Rams by grabbing five rebounds and scoring six points in the first quarter.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>On Defense, TC\u2019s 2-3 zone smothered the Rebel\u2019s offense. Zach Kim and Matt Ho were able to make some noise on offense but the rest of the team couldn\u2019t follow.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The trend of forcing shots continued for Flintridge in the second quarter while on the other end Torimaru and Elton Lo were able to find a groove on offense increasing their lead up to double figures before the half-time buzzer.<\/p>\n<p>Following the break, the Rebels were able to cut into the lead and pull within five.
