This was in response to Houston Astro pitcher Justin Verlander who said Monday that the balls are a joke and he believes 100 percent that the league has implemented juiced balls to increase offense.<\/p>\n<p>5. The American League beat the National League 4-3 in the MLB All-Star game in Cleveland Tuesday night.<\/p>\n<p>6. Safety Glover Quin, who spent 10 years in the NFL most recently with the Detroit Lions, has announced his retirement.<\/p>\n<p>8. The Lakers have signed another free agent adding Avery Bradley to the roster.<\/p>\n<p>9. On this date in 1914 the Boston Red Sox purchased Babe Ruth from the Baltimore Orioles.<\/p>\n<p>10.
