<\/a>Damien Moore scored four touchdowns in Bishop Amat’s big win over Cathedral.<\/p><\/div> By Alex Gonzalez<\/p>\n (Los Angeles) \u2014 Bishop Amat running back Damien Moore rushed for 231 yards and scored four touchdowns in the Lancers 45-20 win over Cathedral Friday night at Balzano Family Field.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cHonestly, it was my linemen. They came out and did what they had to do,\u201d Moore said. \u201cThey contribute to my success.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n To open the game, it looked like the Phantoms were motivated to host the Lancers and avenge their 42-21 loss from a season ago. And it looked like that on their first possession when Camarion Thorton caught Lucas Lenhoff\u2019s pass and took it the distance for the first score.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The lead didn\u2019t last forever because Moore and Co. bullied their way down the field and scored less than two minutes later.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n It wasn\u2019t until the beginning of the second quarter when Bishop took control of the game and never looked back. The Moore led offense added his second rushing score of the night, and just before the half, Adrian Ochoa booted a 41-yard field goal, putting his team up 17-7 before the break.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n After intermission, the Lancers ground game continued to punish their way to the end zone. Moore scored his third and fourth rushing touchdowns on back-to-back drives, extending the lead to 31-7. Then Tobin O\u2019 dell got his only touchdown pass when he found Elijah Cofer who was diving to secure the pass for the score.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Cathedral finally answered back with 3:34 in the fourth when Cameron Thorton bulldozed his was for the score. The Lancers wasted no time to respond when Dyson McCutcheon returned the ensuing kickoff.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The Phantoms were able to add one last touchdown before the final buzzer when Thorton was on the receiving end of Lenhoff\u2019s pass pushing the final score 45-20.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n With the win, Bishop Amat will look to extend win streak to three games when they travel to Alemany on October 4th while Cathedral will host Serra next Friday night.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Here’s another one from Week 4 last year in our “One Year Ago” series.
