However Carlton never got the chance to coach a single game as Azusa Pacific dropped the football program in December.\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>By Tim Peterson\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>(Glendora) &#8211; Rudy Carlton, who has served as the offensive coordinator at Azusa Pacific for the last 10 years, has been promoted to head football coach Athletic Director Gary Pine announced Monday. <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Carlton takes over for Victor Santa Cruz, who resigned last week after 14 years as HC to take the DC position at Hawaii, his alma mater.<\/p>\n<p>Carlton becomes the tenth head coach in program history.
