Models ran twins to give the fans eight races to watch.

PEPSI SUPER LATE MODEL RACE ONE – 40 Laps

Practice doesn’t always make perfect as, Ryan Partridge won his first Super Late Model win in his young career.

Partridge who was having an incredibly tough time during practice the last two days, seemed to have been shocked to be second fastest in qualifying.

With Justin Johnson and Partridge on the front row, it was Johnson who was able to get the jump early and lead a couple of laps before getting passed by Partridge.

The next 20 laps were on the edge of your seat racing as Partridge, Johnson and Ryan Reed battled for the lead with each rubbing fenders until the caution came out when David Beat blew a tire and ended up in the turn two wall.

During the re-start Partridge pulled away from the field and never was threatened the remainder of the evening.

JAN’S TOWING BANDOLEROS – 20 LAPS

Trevor Huddleston led all the way to take the Jan’s Towing Bandoleros race on a windy Saturday night.

Huddleston never was threatened for the lead and was able to hold off Ricky Schlick on a final lap attempt for the win.

The race was halted for seven minutes for a red flag when Lexi Moore spun and Christian McGhee and Evan Garvy were collected when they tried to get clear Moore and had no place to go.

After the re-start Huddleston cleared the pack and went on to his second career victory.

LANGERS JUICE S2 – 20 LAPS

Joe Anderson won Toyota Speedway at Irwindale’s version of “Survivor” as he survived two-yellow flags and a red flag during the race.

During Anderson’s dominance the last 19 laps not even a red-flag brought out by Kendell Lopez’s spin and T-bone wreck by Bill Waters could stop him.

One lap after the green-flag restart, Nick Johnson and Roman Lagudi spun each other out to bring out the yellow-flag.

The final yellow flag was thrown when Andrew Porter and David Busby battling for second, found a way to spin simultaneously and were sent to the back of the pack.

Anderson was able to finish 1.29 seconds in front of Dylan Lupton and Lopez who was able to survive the wreck to finish on the podium.

ECHO EQUIPMENT LEGEND CARS – 30 LAPS

A scary incident overshadowed Darren Amidon’s win in the Echo Equipment Legend Cars series.

Amidon inherited the lead on lap 20 after the race leader Brent Scheidemantle was sent sliding on his hood after clipping rookie Blake Dunkleberger on the straight-away. Scheidemantle was looking to the outside of Dunkleberger and was making a pass when Dunkleberger went to the outside and collected him.

The re-start on lap 21 saw Amidon get the lead and pull clear of Chad Schug who ran second. Tony Green finished the third to complete the podium.

Scheidemantle was able to walk away from the accident and Dunkleberger finished the race in 14th.

PEPSI SUPER LATE MODEL RACE TWO – 40 LAPS

Justin Johnson led all the way to take the second race of the Pepsi Super Late Model series.

Johnson was able to hold off Ryan Partridge for much of the race as both ran identical race times for five straight laps. Partridge hurt his chances early as he spun his tires during the start of the race and allowed Johnson to get the jump.

Johnson held off challenges from Partridge and Ryan Reed as he held the top line for most of the race and forced both drivers to burn their tires and tail off.

The race ended with four caution laps for a broken attenuator that was caused when Reed slid into it and damaged it. The attenuator located in the entry way of the pits was damaged and needed to be repaired prior to Drive Tech Late Model race. Reed would walk away on his own power.

Dusty Davis rounded out the top three.

JUSTICE BROTHERS MINI STOCKS – 30 LAPS

A complete display of domination was exhibited by Darryl Scoggins and the Kermit the Frog powered #10 Justice Brothers Mini Stock as he led all the way.

Scoggins victory was impressive as he won by 5.4 seconds.

He was never threatened during the race that saw Jacob Rogers spin early in the race and lose all hope to make a dent in Scoggins’s series lead.

Rod Schmitt and Richie Altman finished the podium.

ASA TRUCK SERIES – 75 LAPS

The last thing Race Liberante needed was a caution flag while he was beginning to pull away in the final race of the evening.

Liberante’s fears became reality on the 59th lap when Taylor Milinch spun in between turns three and four. The caution allowed Joey Licata to re-start on the inside of Liberante and get the lead on the 60th lap re-start.

It would be the only caution flag of the race and Licata was able to pull clear of the field for the last 15 laps to win the first ASA Truck series race of the season at Toyota Speedway at Irwindale.

To add insult to Liberante’s evening was his suspect fuel issue at the end of the race as he coasted to an eighth place finish.

Licata was clearly the best in the evening and pole-sitter Taylor Cuzick mired in eighth for most of the night mustered up a second place finish.

With Liberante losing power, Jimmy Putman was able to grab third place away from Shawn Steele and Dylan Kwasniewski.

RESULTS:

PEPSI SUPER LATE MODELS – 40
