\nSo for some of you that are complaining but are still going to read this I\u2019m finally done with writing about Mountain View football. But first, I\u2019m going to give you my thoughts.<\/p>\n
I\u2019ve had the privilege to coach with one of the best coaches around and one of my mentors in El Monte HC Jesse Ceniceros, and also pick the brain of guys like Anthony White and Matt Koffler who are pretty successful coaches themselves. What I learned from them – \u201crun with what your skill level lets you\u201d. <\/p>\n
I know these Mountain View kids. I was one of them. What you\u2019re going to get is a bunch of tough kids that won\u2019t back down but don’t have a lot of football skills or knowledge of the game. <\/p>\n
I’m not telling anyone how to do their job but they’re going to need to run a basic offense and defense with these kids and master it. <\/p>\n
Like \u2018FridayKnight\u2019 said stick with one thing and don’t change it mid season or every year. I say pound it, you\u2019re not going to get spread kids. Koffler said it best – \u201crun it down their throats\u201d. <\/p>\n
View isn\u2019t going to get a three play 85-yard touchdown drive with a guy like Davon Booth, but Norte Vista last year consistently had 13-play, 13-minute drives and went 10-2. That, along with a 4-3 defense and physical play, and I see wins. <\/p>\n
I just want to see some type of success at my alma mater and hope these articles will get some of those athletes out there on the football field.<\/p>\n
