(Baldwin Park) – Sierra Vista co head coach Sergio Villasenor has been hospitalized after suffering a fall at his home last Thursday which was the result of a heart attack. <\/p>\n
Villasenor, along with his son Matt Villasenor, led the Dons to an 11-2 record on the field last year and into the CIF semi finals in their first year at Sierra Vista. <\/p>\n
Sergio Villasenor vows that he will be back on the sidelines this season. Here is a message that he sent to his team Saturday night: <\/p>\n
Gentlemen, good evening,<\/p>\n Didn\u2019t want you to hear this from someone else. <\/p>\n On Thursday I was on a ladder doing some trimming. I had a heart related blackout and next thing I realized I was in an ambulance on the way to the Hospital.<\/p>\n I received 3 staples on a head wound, and had some bleeding in the brain\/head area and also found out it was a mild heart attack. Since then having several tests done, I will be needing bypass heart surgery, <\/p>\n You will not get rid of me that easy. I will recover and be back to coaching soon, (4-6 weeks). I promised you and the community a few state Championships. <\/p>\n We have a great staff and I have complete confidence in them. If you have any questions you can contact them.
