1. Former USC running back and Heisman Trophy winner Reggie Bush was welcomed back to the school after a 10-year NCAA mandated disassociation. Bush was part of the major penalties USC received from the NCAA in 2010. <\/p>\n

2. Former MLB outfielder Claudell Washington passed away of cancer at the age of 65. Washington played 17 years in the majors and was part of the Oakland A’s 1974 World Series championship team. <\/p>\n

3. USC safety C.J. Pollard has transferred to Utah State to play his redshirt senior season. <\/p>\n

4. The Detroit Tigers selected Arizona State slugger Spencer Torkelson with the number one pick in the MLB draft. <\/p>\n

5. “We’re going to play baseball in 2020, 100 percent.” – MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred. <\/p>\n

6. MLS announced an “MLS is back” tournament that will begin July 8 in Orlando, Florida with all 26 teams participating. <\/p>\n

7. On this date in 2002 the Lakers beat the New Jersey Nets 113-107 to wrap up a four-game sweep in the NBA Finals. Shaquille O’Neal was named Finals MVP. For the Lakers it was their third straight NBA championship. <\/p>\n

8. With the final pick of the first round, #29 overall, the Dodgers selected right-handed pitcher Bobby Miller from Louisville. <\/p>\n

9. Seattle Seahawk head coach Pete Carroll says that he regrets not signing quarterback Colin Kaepernick in 2017 but that they considered him a starter and they already had one in Russell Wilson. <\/p>\n
