(La Puente) – Running back Houston Thomas scored three touchdowns and quarterback Noah Fifita threw for another three in Servite\u2019s 58-7 shellacking of Bishop Amat Thursday night on the Lancers home field. <\/p>\n\n\n

The Lancers got the ball first but couldn\u2019t get anything going with a three and out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On the Friars first possession Fifita hit Keyan Burnett when he made a outstanding catch over the defender for 41-yards. A few plays later Fifita hit Tetairoa McMillan on a eight-yard slant into the end zone giving them an early 7-0 lead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Much of the same for the Bishop Amat on their second possession as this time there was a bad snap on the punt and Thomas picked it up and ran it in from nine yards out for Servite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Friars next two possessions Thomas’ name was called often as he scored on runs of six and three yards giving Servite a 28-0 lead early in the second quarter:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A third straight bad snap for the Lancers resulted in a safety when it went out of the back of the end zone make it 30-0.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On the Friars next two drives Fifita hit McMillan for his second score of the game and found Michael Welsh on a bullet in the back of the end zone making it 44-0 with five seconds left in the first half.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Servite got the running clock the second half and pounded the ball down the field and Tyler McCown capped it off with a one-yard dive to paydirt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Amat finally got on the board midway through the fourth quarter when Julien \u201cHuero\u201d Lopez got four carries on the drive for 40-yards and a two-yard touchdown run, but it was too little too late with the score being at 51-7.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Friars emptied the bench and sophomore running back Hoi Hansen ran over the Lancers defense to a 10-yard touchdown run for the last score of the game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bishop Amat only forced one punt but super sophomores Matthew Salazar and Richie Munoz were all over the field for the Lancers on defense.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Amat quarterback Tobin O\u2019Dell went 8 of 17 for 58 yards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Fifita was 16 of 26 for 244-yards and three touchdown passes. Thomas had 87-yards on the ground and two rushing touchdowns. McMillan had 71-yards receiving on four catches while Welsh led the team with seven catches and 83-yards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Servite will travel next week again and visit Sierra Canyon while Bishop Amat will stay home and host Leuzinger.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
