(Pasadena) \u2013 There\u2019s no truth to the rumor that the earthquake that was felt at 4:55 Wednesday afternoon was actually just the Muir lineman running though drills. But after seeing them up close and personal it seemed like a distinct possibility.<\/p>\n

\u201cOh yeah, they\u2019re big. They are going to be the key for us this year,\u201d said Muir Coach Ken Howard. \u201cThese other little guys out here can just get out of the way. It\u2019s about these guys this year.<\/p>\n

All five linemen are at least 270 pounds with Shawn Wilcox the biggest overall at 6\u20194\u201d, 290. Wilcox is joined by Danny Huerta at 6\u20191\u201d, 280, Cameron Palmer at 6\u20194\u201d, 270 and Robert Morales at 6\u20192\u201d, 273. Oh and there\u2019s Christian Lopez. He\u2019s only 6\u20190\u201d but he checks in at a cool 300.<\/p>\n

\u00a0While you need skill position players as well to be successful, the line is a good place to start. And with that settled, Muir as always has skill players.<\/p>\n

Jeff Davis, a senior, will take over for the Jarron Williams at quarterback. He will have plenty of targets to throw to in Kevon Seymour, Karl Holmes and Tairen Owens.<\/p>\n

Trayveion Yates has good size at a solid 6\u20191\u201d, 200 and will be the primary running back.<\/p>\n

Dai Dai McFadden, a transfer from Crescenta Valley, will get the rock as well but it could be from the backfield, in the slot or when he\u2019s split wide.<\/p>\n

The Mustangs are looking for good things from Brandon Jackson, a linebacker who will be a big part of special teams as well. Jackson is only a junior.<\/p>\n

Muir will open with San Gabriel at home, then Saugus and Bishop Amat on the road before hosting Burbank\u00a0on October 1 to start Pacific League.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n

Muir always has athletes. That\u2019s what makes them so scary. But with the hogs that will be lining up in 2010 the Mustangs will be absolutely frightening.<\/p>\n
