(Ontario) – Blair went on a 12-2 run to open the second quarter to break open a close game and went on to beat Santa Paula 84-59 Saturday night to win the CIF Division 5A Championship at Colony High. <\/p>\n\n\n

Freshman Timmy Anderson led the team with 29 points and Shakour Sidney had 28 points to lead the Vikings. Shakour had a big fourth quarter with 12 points including a pair of three-pointers. Anderson hit two from long range and scored nine in the second quarter. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anderson hit a three in the first quarter and Keshrey Smith Jr. nailed one from beyond the arc as well and Blair led 16-13 after one. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Vikings got out of the gate quickly in the second quarter and outscored the Cardinals 21-9 in the period. By the time the first half buzzer sounded Blair was up comfortably 37-22. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Santa Paula tried to get back in the hunt in the third as Jose Valdovinos and Jordan Ramirez got going. Valdovinos scored 10 in the third quarter and led the Cardinals with 20 points overall. Ramirez had 14 in the third and finished with 19. Valdovinos and Ramirez combined for 39 of the 59 Santa Paula points. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

But Blair was able to keep pace with a 20-point quarter of its own and still led by 11 heading into the fourth. Smith scored seven in the third for the Vikes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Vikings biggest quarter was the fourth as they racked up 27 points as Sidney lit it up for 13. They outscored Santa Paula by 14. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Blair finished the season with an overall record of 23-10 and also as Division 5A Champions. Santa Paula ended up 13-10. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
