{"id":8023,"date":"2010-08-01T14:56:41","date_gmt":"2010-08-01T21:56:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/midvalleysports.com\/?p=8023"},"modified":"2010-08-01T14:56:41","modified_gmt":"2010-08-01T21:56:41","slug":"partridge-rallies-for-ninth-win","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/midvalleysports.com\/?p=8023","title":{"rendered":"Partridge Rallies for Ninth Win"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>(IRWINDALE) \u2013 Nearly 3,000 fans were treated to a wild finish in the Langers Juice S2 race and watched Ryan Partridge continue his assault at the Toyota Speedway at Irwindale record books.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>PEPSI SUPER LATE MODELS \u2013 40 LAPS<\/p>\n<p>Andy Allen got the jump on Dusty Davis and pulled clear early to win the first of two races on the night for the Pepsi Super Late Models.<\/p>\n<p>Allen hadn\u2019t raced in 11 races after wrecking on the opening night.\u00a0 It was his first victory at Toyota Speedway at Irwindale.<\/p>\n<p>Davis fell back to fourth in Rip Michels old race car after wrecking his primary car in practice on Friday night.\u00a0 Prior to the race he guaranteed a win, which fell silent after the first lap.<\/p>\n<p>Luis Martinez Jr had his highest finish of the year with a second-place finish.<\/p>\n<p>Davis\u2019s teammate and current point\u2019s leader in the series Justin Johnson rounded out the top three.<\/p>\n<p>VISTA PAINT SUPER STOCKS \u2013 30 LAPS<\/p>\n<p>Rich De Long III won his first race in five races and continues to lead the Super Stocks in points.<\/p>\n<p>With the win it is De Long\u2019s fifth win of the season.<\/p>\n<p>De Long did have to withstand a late attempt for a pass by Gary Read on the final two laps, but had more forward bite.<\/p>\n<p>The attempt at the win cost Read second place and allowed Eric Sunness to get past on the final jump.<\/p>\n<p>Sunness had been the one shadowing De Long for much of the race until Read past him with two laps to go.<\/p>\n<p>LANGERS JUICE S2 \u2013 25 LAPS<\/p>\n<p>Dylan Lupton won a wild finish as he slid sideways for the win in the Langer\u2019s Juice S2 race.<\/p>\n<p>Lupton lead the entire way and was one turn away from winning easily, when Roman Lagudi got to his door handle and spun Lupton.<\/p>\n<p>What transpired next epitomized short-track racing as Lupton and Lagudi spun uncontrollably to the finish that also saw Joe Anderson, Andrew Porter and Kendall Lopez spin across the line as well.<\/p>\n<p>The front straightaway at Irwindale appeared more like Daytona or Talladega then a normal night at Toyota Speedway.<\/p>\n<p>After the dust settled, it was Lupton who was awarded the win, followed by Lagudi and Anderson for an all Race Car Factory finish.<\/p>\n<p>KING TACO SUPER TRUCKS \u2013 40 LAPS<\/p>\n<p>No one likes to mention perfection during a streak, so when Ryan Partridge came out to run for an attempt at his ninth-straight victory no one brought it up.<\/p>\n<p>Partridge started on the fourth row and was involved in some early bumping to tie a record for his ninth straight victory and has yet to finish worst than first in the King Taco Super Trucks.<\/p>\n<p>Pat Mintey Jr made a valiant effort to become the spoiler and led the first 20 laps only to watch his one second lead dwindled to nothing when a caution was thrown.<\/p>\n<p>After the green was dropped, it took Partridge a couple of laps to take the lead from Mintey.<\/p>\n<p>For Mintey, it has been a long week as he had to worry about the Crown Fire in the Palmdale area.<\/p>\n<p>Partridge won\u2019t have to wait long to break the record as he comes back next week.<\/p>\n<p>KEN PORTER AUCTIONS CLASSIC STOCK &amp; OPEN COMP \u2013 35 LAPS<\/p>\n<p>After spinning wildly in the Langers Juice S2, Joe Anderson romped home to a convincing win in the Open Comp race on the third-mile of Toyota Speedway at Irwindale.<\/p>\n<p>Anderson took the lead on the third lap and was never really in danger of losing after the 20<sup>th<\/sup> lap.<\/p>\n<p>Three different race classes finished in the top three as a Pro Modified finished second with Rick Crow aboard.<\/p>\n<p>A Super Late Model with Adrianne Murlin was third.<\/p>\n<p>Ken Michaelian came back to the Winner\u2019s Circle in the Ken Porter Auctions Classic Stock class as he was the best of the remaining Classic Stocks.<\/p>\n<p>PEPSI SUPER LATE MODEL \u2013 40 LAPS<\/p>\n<p>Justin Johnson re-took the lead on the 23<sup>rd<\/sup> lap and cruised to a 1.927 second victory.\u00a0 It was Johnson\u2019s seventh win on the season and extended his lead in the points lead by 12 points.<\/p>\n<p>Andy Allen continued his strong night as he led for 10 laps from laps 13 to 23 and was passed in turn two on the 23<sup>rd<\/sup> on a low pass by Johnson.<\/p>\n<p>Allen finished second and backed up his first place finish earlier on the night.<\/p>\n<p>David Beat had his best finish of the year with his third place finish to round out the podium.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>(IRWINDALE) \u2013 Nearly 3,000 fans were treated to a wild finish in the Langers Juice S2 race and watched Ryan Partridge continue his assault at the Toyota Speedway at Irwindale record books.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":9,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"ngg_post_thumbnail":0,"footnotes":""},"categories":[],"tags":[3517,2777,1648,2770,2568,2569],"class_list":["post-8023","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","tag-andy-allen","tag-dylan-lupton","tag-joe-johnson","tag-justin-johnson","tag-rich-delong-iii","tag-ryan-partridge"],"aioseo_notices":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"http:\/\/midvalleysports.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/8023","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"http:\/\/midvalleysports.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"http:\/\/midvalleysports.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/midvalleysports.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/9"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/midvalleysports.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=8023"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"http:\/\/midvalleysports.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/8023\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":8024,"href":"http:\/\/midvalleysports.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/8023\/revisions\/8024"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"http:\/\/midvalleysports.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=8023"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/midvalleysports.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcategories&post=8023"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/midvalleysports.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Ftags&post=8023"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
