Parnell&#8217;s staff. Azusa Pacific shut down the football program in 2020 but announced this year that football will return in 2026 at the Division 3 level with Parnell as head coach. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Beatty played at APU in 1992 and &#8217;93 starting in 12 of 18 games under Hall of Fame head coach Jim Millhon.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After graduating from Azusa Pacific in 1994, Beatty began his coaching career joining Vic Shealy&#8217;s staff in 1995. While coaching the linebackers he helped mold the Cougars defense and the linebacking crew into a formidable unit.
