(Photo courtesy of David Thomas\/https:\/\/davidshootssports.photoshelter.com\/)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>By Tim Peterson <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(Pasadena) &#8211; Rand Holdren has stepped down as the head football coach at Maranatha to take over as the head coach at Village Christian he confirmed Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n\n\n<p>Holdren was the head coach at Maranatha for five years guiding the Minutemen to the CIF playoffs three times. Last year Maranatha went 7-4 overall (4-1 in the Mesquite League) and fell to Baldwin Park 42-28 in the first round of the CIF Division 11 playoffs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Holdren will now step in as the head coach at Village Christian where he takes over for Richard Broussard. Broussard resigned after eight seasons at the helm. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;I am incredibly grateful and excited for the opportunity to serve as the next Head Football Coach at Village Christian. I feel truly called to be part of a community that values faith, character, and excellence both on and off the field.
