  1. Former Angels’ star Garret Anderson passed away at the age of 53 the team announced Friday.<\/li>\n
  2. Anderson is the Angels career hits leader and led the team to its only World Series title in 2002.\u00a0<\/li>\n
  3. Anderson broke in with the Angels in 1994 and played 15 years with the team. He played 17 years overall and spent the last two years with the Atlanta Braves and the Dodgers respectively.\u00a0<\/li>\n
  4. Anderson holds the Angels franchise record in many categories including games played (2,013), total bases (3,743), extra-base hits (796), doubles (489), grand slams (8), and RBIs (1,292). He is second in runs scored (1,024). His 272 home runs are third in franchise history behind Mike Trout and Tim Salmon.\u00a0<\/li>\n
  5. Anderson had a career batting average of .293 with 287 home runs and 1,365 RBIs.\u00a0<\/li>\n
  6. Anderson is a member of the Angels’ Hall of Fame and served as a television analyst for Angels broadcasts after his playing career.\u00a0<\/li>\n
  7. Anderson finished fourth in the AL MVP voting during the 2002 championship season batting .306 with 29 home runs and 123 RBIs. *******************<\/li>\n
