Alta Loma has a talented quarterback with a cool name while San Dimas is bringing in a completely new look on offense. Chino could take that next step with a new quarterback of their own. Can Los Osos, Claremont or Diamond Ranch rise up and surprise somebody? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n

Projected order of finish: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Alta Loma – Head Coach: Tyler Perri. The offense starts with quarterback Maximus Fierro. Fierro, only a sophomore, threw for 1,643 yards last year and 20 touchdowns. He can also pull it down and run it when necessary. He scampered for 237 yards and seven TDs last year. Fierro also has a couple of targets to throw to in junior Bryant Avila and senior Santiago Vasquez. The two combined for over 1,000 yards last season with Avila racking up 641 yards and 12 scores. The Lions (yes, they’re the Lions now) have a couple of guys that can run the ball. Senior Izaiah Brown rushed for 630 yards and five touchdowns last season and junior Kristopher Biggers came up big with 642 and five scores. The Lions ran for 1,555 yards as a team in ’25. They should be stout defensively as well with Owen Fiorenza (107 total tackles last year) and Colin Boen (79 tackles) both returning at linebacker. With a potent and balanced offense and a strong stop unit the Lions look like the team to beat in the Valle Vista.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. San Dimas – Head Coach: Dylan O’Leary. You might not recognize the Saints this year. The uniforms will be the same but the coach and the offense will be completely different. Dylan O’Leary, a San Dimas alum who played quarterback for the Saints, is revamping the offense. It will no longer be the Wing-T or Double-Wing if you will. Instead, San Dimas will be spreading it out and throwing the ball around. Sophomore Kris Saris will be the guy to sling it around as he learns the new offense. Saris has looked good in the summer. Jacob Gallegos, who had a terrific junior year with 1,668 yards and 16 touchdowns rushing, returns for his senior season. Gallegos with all of his athleticism, will play wide receiver for the Saints this year. With Gallegos moving the Saints still have a stable of backs with Liam Loyola, Vincent Scates and Gavin Westevoorde all set to carry the rock. Loyola and Scates will both play defense as well they will line up at linebacker. Mikey Baeza and Devin Gonzales will be returning players to watch as they man the defensive end. The Saints may have a new look but expect them to finish in the same spot- near the top of the heap. They’ll battle Alta Loma to the end.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Chino – Head Coach: Alex Arrellano. Chino loves to pound the rock, Last year they ran for 2,055 yards and 30 touchdowns as a team. The Cowboys had 1,536 in passing yards. Nathan Bull, who had over 1,000 yards rushing last year, graduated but Raymond Chia is back and brings with him his 605 yards and seven touchdowns. Quarterback Isaiah Salinas, a transfer from Diamond Ranch, threw for nearly 1,500 yards last year and should give the passing game some spark. Chino also has some talent returning defensively with senior linebacker Isaac Jordan, who had 57 total tackles last season, and junior backer Andrew Ruiz (40 total tackles) leading the way. The Cowboys went 4-1 in the Hacienda and made the playoffs last season before falling to Valley Christian in the playoffs. If they can finish no worse than third in the Valle Vista they have a shot at the post season again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. Los Osos – Head Coach: Rudy Berumen. Quarterback Isaiah Guerrero had a big year for Los Osos last year throwing for over 1,500 yards and 14 touchdowns, but he transferred to Bonita. The Grizzlies are still working through the quarterback situation but they do have a pair of solid running backs returning in seniors Brody Walker and Isaiah Stewart. Los Osos finished 2-3 in the Sierra League and 4-6 overall last season. The Grizz will need to improve on that this year in the Valle Vista to have a shot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5. Claremont – Head Coach: Jake Caron. Claremont went 7-4 overall last season but 2-3 in the Sierra League. The Wolfpack may need at least one more victory in the Valle Vista to make the playoffs. Tight end Max Leeper graduated and is now headed to New Mexico. Senior Brandon Coronado, who transferred in from Glendora last year, is coming off a big season in which he threw for 1,453 yards and ran for 219 accounting for 20 touchdowns. Tai Thompson, who rushed for 613 yards, will be the main man in the backfield. The Wolfpack will need to knock off either an Alta Loma or a San Dimas, or both to gain a berth in the CIF playoffs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

6. Diamond Ranch – Head Coach: Daniel Falkenstein. Daniel Falkenstein is beginning his first year as head coach at Diamond Ranch after Chris Williams stepped down to take over at Covina. The Panthers had a tough year last season going 3-7 (2-8 on the field) and 0-5 in the Valle Vista. Quarterback Isaiah Salinas, who passed for 1,451 yards last year, transferred to Chino, leaving Diamond Ranch with a hole to fill there. Cory Wilson ran for 664 yards and 14 touchdowns in 2025 and is back for his senior season. Tristan Kinney will get some carries as well after running for 269 yards last year. Roman Garcia returns to lead the receiving corp after hauling in 25 catches for 553 yards and five scores last year. Wilson will play on both sides of the ball. Last season he had 51 total tackles. The Panthers need to try to scratch out a league victory or two and then maybe surprise somebody to have any opportunity for the post season.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
