(Monrovia) \u2013 Monrovia Defensive Coordinator Ted Clarke stepped down from his coaching position Sunday for personal reasons. The resignation is effective immediately.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cI resigned today from the Monrovia staff for personal reasons. I enjoyed working with the incredible young men at Monrovia and wish them well,\u201d Clarke said.<\/p>\n
Clarke\u00a0has had several area coaching stops over the years including the Head Coach at San Dimas early this decade.\u00a0This was Clarke’s first year\u00a0on the Monrovia staff.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
The Wildcats are 1-2 this year and are coming off a 35-34 loss to San Dimas last Friday night. Next up for Monrovia is a date with South Hills Thursday night at Covina District Field.<\/p>\n
The position is expected to be filled within the staff.<\/p>\n
Update:<\/strong><\/p>\n Coach Clarke’s wife was diagnosed wth cancer\u00a0earlier\u00a0this summer and she is currently going through treatment.\u00a0He has stepped down to be with her and support her during\u00a0this time.\u00a0Between spending\u00a0time with his two\u00a0teenage children\u00a0and\u00a0caring for his wife\u00a0it was necessary for him to resign from\u00a0his duties as defensive coordinator on the Monrovia staff.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0“She has always supported me through out my career.\u00a0I need to do this for her and supoport her during this time,”\u00a0Clarke said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" (Monrovia) \u2013 Monrovia Defensive Coordinator Ted Clarke stepped down from his coaching position Sunday for personal reasons.
