Jackson gained 25 yards on his first four rushes in an inside rushing attack.\u00a0 The Pirates switched to Taj Davis, who gained 1 yard on two runs.\u00a0 After a third\u00a0down sack, Paramount caught a huge break on fourth\u00a0down when Michael Harris received a roughing the passer penalty, resulting in a automatic first down.\u00a0 The Pirates took advantage of their renewed drive when Dominique Brown connected with Davis for a 24-yard \u00a0touchdown pass.<\/p>\n<p>Paramount would not see the end zone for the rest of the night.<\/p>\n<p>After stalling on its first drive, Monrovia found success on its second.\u00a0 Nick Bueno\u2019s 36-yard punt return set the offense up at the Pirate 11.\u00a0 On second\u00a0down, Bueno connected with Jay Henderson on a 8-yard slant route.\u00a0 Bueno connected with Henderson again on the next series on a 18-yard strike<\/p>\n<p>In the second\u00a0quarter, after a 29 run from Brown and a defensive pass interference, the Pirates found themselves within scoring distance.\u00a0 On first and goal, Larry Hill took the outside and scored from 9-yards out.\u00a0 However, the score was called back due to a holding penalty. Two plays later, Monrovia\u2019s Derrin Jenkins intercepted Larry Hill in the end zone to stop the Pirate drive.<\/p>\n<p>Being contained all night on the ground it was Buenos passing ability which caused Monrovia to be successful. He finished 9 for 12 for 178 yards and 2 touchdowns while being held to 23 yards rushing.\u00a0 Luke Williams was Bueno\u2019s favorite deep threat, with 87 yards on 3 catches. Ellis McCarthy, Brandon Wingenbach, and Anthony Craft also had receptions.<\/p>\n<p>Michael Harris did most of the work on the ground for the Wildcats.
