Whether it is Derek Fisher’s late miss in game two or King James last second buzzer-beater how can you change the channel.<\/p>\n
If September to January 1st is a football widows’ time to not nag, Today is the a gear head widows’ time to just do something else.<\/p>\n
It is 1100 miles of racing at two storied tracks.<\/p>\n
Its the 100th year at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.<\/p>\n
So much history has been made there.\u00a0 Whether its A.J. Foyt, Al Unser, or Rick Mears’ four victories or being a kid and being able to stay up late on a Sunday to watch the race with my father.<\/p>\n
Its also the 50th running of the Coca-Cola 600.\u00a0 Formerly the World 600, most drivers will tell you that this is on their “to do list”.<\/p>\n
The race is one of the most enduring and physical races on the Sprint Cup circuit.<\/p>\n
What I miss are the drivers that have attempted the double, when Tony Stewart or Robby Gordon would run at Indy, get on a private jet and head to Charlotte in the evening.<\/p>\n
Now its virtually impossible for a driver to get to both events.<\/p>\n
My picks for the day, Tony Kannan to kiss the bricks and Tony Stewart to survive the grueling 400 lap event.<\/p>\n
With the weekend coming to a close, we also have the rubber match of the Freeway Series as the Angels and Dodgers are battling for Los Angeles and Orange County.<\/p>\n
I am sure John Scanlan loved the fact Juan Pierre got his first RBI against the Angels last night in a 10-inning thriller.<\/p>\n
