Tony Botello was held to just 17 yards rushing. Pioneer\u2019s season hangs in the balance on Thursday with a loss all but eliminating from post-season consideration.<\/p>\n<p>Jim Arnold has his Condors winning at the right time with two games remaining in the Del Rio League season. The return of Adam Contreras definitely has helped the California team in leadership ability. The Condors defense stepped up against a talented rushing team in El Rancho.<\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>California 21-10<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>****<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Friday, November 5th<br \/>\n<\/strong><strong>DEL RIO<\/strong><strong><br \/>\nSanta Fe (4-4, 2-1) vs. El Rancho (5-3, 1-2) at Pioneer HS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Last Meeting: 2009\u00a0 \u2013 Santa Fe 21-3<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Since 2001 leads 8-1<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A win for the Chiefs will go a long way to getting into the playoffs. Only problem is what Santa Fe team will show up? Last week, the Chiefs spotted Whittier an 18-7 lead before coming back to win. The offense runs through Alex Mirola and needs to get the ball in his hands. Justin Rincon just needs to manage the game at quarterback.<\/p>\n<p>A must win for the Dons, especially if California wins on the night before. El Rancho has the talent to win, just need to limit penalties and careless mistakes. Daniel Moriel is the real deal on defense and Ronnel Lone is finally meeting expectations.<\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>El Rancho 28-17<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>***<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Whittier (0-8, 0-3) vs. La Serna (7-1, 3-0) at California HS \u2013 La Serna 49-0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>HACIENDA <\/strong><strong><\/p>\n<p>Rowland (4-5, 1-4) at Bonita (7-1, 3-1)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Raiders managed to self-destruct in two straight games after having huge leads in both. The status of Michael Ball will determine if Rowland can pull the upset and possibly garner support for the final playoff spot. Danny McMahan can be a difference maker for the Raiders at the wide receiver position.<\/p>\n<p>The Bearcats were out-muscled against West Covina in the loss. Garrett Pendleton will rebound against a defense that has been beaten by the pass the last two weeks. Good receiving corp in Garrett Horine, Matt Gelalich, Cameron Salce, Grant Wharton and Austin Venegas may have a big night.<\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Bonita 49-21<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>***<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> West Covina (7-1, 4-0) vs. Diamond Ranch (5-3, 4-0) at Ganesha HS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Last Meeting: 2008 CIF Southeast Division Semi-Finals \u2013 Diamond Ranch 39-7<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Since 2001 series tied 2-2-1<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Game of the Week in the Southeast Division, it will also decide the Hacienda League title.<\/p>\n<p>Chris Solomon and B.J. Lee will lead the offense with a \u201cruns it down your throat\u201d mentality. The defense will be anchored by Justin Meaders and Maurice Dupleasis.<\/p>\n<p>If Chase Price doesn\u2019t go for the Panthers, Jacoby Carter and Andrew Fischer will have to shoulder the load. Both teams will be physical and it will come down to who can wear the other line down.<\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>West Covina 21-17<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>***<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Los Altos (0-8, 0-4) at Diamond Bar (5-3, 1-3) \u2013 Diamond Bar 49-7<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>PACIFIC <\/strong><strong><br \/>\nBurroughs (5-3, 5-0) at Muir (4-4, 3-2)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Last Meeting: 2009\u00a0 \u2013 Burroughs 9-6<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Indians were lucky to get out of Glendale with a win against Crescenta Valley on Thursday night. Burroughs will need a healthy Zander Anding to keep the Mustang offense off the field. Lucas Yanez will also need to find Matt Volland occasionally to keep the Muir offense honest.<\/p>\n<p>After the loss to Arcadia, the Mustangs were an afterthought with Crescenta Valley and Apaches having better starts to the Pacific League schedule. Now Muir has a good shot at muddling up the Pacific League standings with a good win against the Indians. Jeffrey Davis will need to use the size of his receivers against the smaller defensive backs of Burroughs.<\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Muir 21-17<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>***<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> Crescenta Valley (4-4, 2-3) vs. Burbank (6-2, 4-1) at Burroughs HS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Last Meeting: 2009\u00a0 \u2013 Burbank 42-21<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Bounce back win was crucial to Bulldogs who were without Quortney Brazier for the game against Pasadena. The Bulldogs can\u2019t take the Falcons lightly and look ahead to the Burroughs match-up on November 11.\u00a0 Ryan Seidler should keep Crescenta Valley from doing too much damage on offense.<\/p>\n<p>Paul Perigini did an admirable job replacing Zac Wilkerson at quarterback. The Falcons found out that Marro Lee is irreplaceable at the running back spot. The defense should keep it close for awhile, but the Burbank should prevail.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Burbank 35-14<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>***<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> Glendale (0-8, 0-5) at Arcadia (6-2, 4-1) \u2013 Arcadia 49-0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Hoover (1-7, 0-5) vs. Pasadena (3-5, 2-3) at Glendale HS \u2013 Pasadena 35-7<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><strong>SUBURBAN <\/strong><strong><\/p>\n<p>Cerritos (2-6, 1-3) vs. Bellflower (5-3, 2-2) at Gahr HS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Last Meeting: 2009 \u2013 Bellflower 41-17<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Since 2001 Bellflower leads 7-2<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Dons would like nothing more than to beat the Bucs and have a small shot at getting the fourth playoff spot out of the Suburban.<\/p>\n<p>Michael Jasper has done a good running the ball for the Bucs. Mike Luevano needs to just manage the game and not squander opportunities.<\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Bellflower 35-21<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>***<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> Norwalk (5-3, 3-1) at La Mirada (5-3, 4-0)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Last Meeting: 2009 \u2013 La Mirada 42-33<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Since 2001 La Mirada leads 8-1<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This game was circled way back when the schedule came out as the Suburban League title would be up for grabs. It was half right with the Matadores in position to be crowned.<\/p>\n<p>Elijhaa Penny and Billy Moore will need to keep La Mirada off the field with its running game. Penny has just gotten better as the season has gone on in the Suburban League.<\/p>\n<p>La Mirada\u2019s defense will need to put nine players in the box and hope the Lancers throw the ball.
