But it wasn\u2019t your typical passing competition. It\u2019s a lot better,\u201d said Baldwin Park Coach James Heggins of 11 on 11. \u201cAs far as the quarterback it gives him a lot better ideas on his reads and what he\u2019s looking at. It gives him a better perspective on things.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Braves are looking at two quarterbacks who are competing for the job. Senior Eric Robles and Sophomore Michael Moran were both getting snaps. Anthony Moran figures to be a big part of the offense in 2011 catching passes and running the ball.<\/p>\n<p>Giovanni Resendez, who stands only 5\u20195\u201d and weighs all of 140 pounds, broke off several long runs for the Braves.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s small but very quick,\u201d Heggins said. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>For Walnut quarterback Chris Mendez got a chance to throw the ball down the field and did so with<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_16350\" style=\"width: 410px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-16350\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-16350\" src=\"http:\/\/midvalleysports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/WALNUT-BP-5-13-11-014-400x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-16350\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Put me in Coach <\/p><\/div>\n<p>regularity.
