The Moors will now take the next couple of weeks off before returning in the middle of June. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_16606\" style=\"width: 410px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-16606\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-16606\" src=\"http:\/\/midvalleysports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/ALH-Spring-5-26-11-024-400x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-16606\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Junior QB Josh Mendoza has a year of experience under his belt <\/p><\/div>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s kind of a different schedule,\u201d said Alhambra Coach Lou Torres. \u201cNext week the kids have Finals and after that another week of school. So we\u2019ll get back after it about the middle of June.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Moors finished 4-6 overall last year and 1-4 in the Almont in Torres\u2019 first year. Torres chalks it up mostly to inexperience.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_16607\" style=\"width: 410px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-16607\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-16607\" src=\"http:\/\/midvalleysports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/ALH-Spring-5-26-11-014-400x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-16607\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Running Down the Dream <\/p><\/div>\n<p>\u201cWe were young last year and we\u2019ll still be young this year. But now all of those sophomores we had are all juniors with a year of experience,\u201d Torres said. \u201cWe have a lot of skill position players coming back but we might be a little light on the lines\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_16608\" style=\"width: 410px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-16608\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-16608\" src=\"http:\/\/midvalleysports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/ALH-Spring-5-26-11-004-400x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-16608\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">DC Jacob Ochoa coaching them up <\/p><\/div>\n<p>A few of the players Torres pointed out were quarterback Josh Mendoza, receiver Demetrius Russell and WR\/DB Chris Gayton. The Moors open with Mt. View\u00a0in zero week and then follow with\u00a0La Canada, Temple City, Wilson and South Pasadena before starting Almont League play.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_16609\" style=\"width: 410px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-16609\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-16609\" src=\"http:\/\/midvalleysports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/ALH-Spring-5-26-11-011-400x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-16609\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Doin&#39; work in May <\/p><\/div>\n<p>Also OL\/DL Chris Caraveo and defensive back Luis Herrera will be key to the Moors success. Herrera is also the backup quarterback should Mendoza go down.<\/p>\n<p>Young or not the Moors should compete.
