That is, the original 12 teams that we covered when we first started out. We went with 12 players and a coach. Yes we could have gone with a DH, but the pitching was so dominant in the area that it was hard to not go with a three man pitching staff. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><!--more--> Pitcher: Corey Copping (Temple City<\/strong>) \u00a0\u2013 Took his game to the next level this year and he\u2019s still only a junior. 0.97 ERA, 59 strikeouts.\u00a0<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_16757\" style=\"width: 410px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-16757\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-16757\" src=\"http:\/\/midvalleysports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/tc-st-bonnies-TC-ftball-5-19-11-006-400x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-16757\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Corey Copping of Temple City: All Old School Pitcher <\/p><\/div>\n<p><strong>Pitcher: K.J. Edson (Arcadia)<\/strong> \u2013 Was the Apaches ace on a very good staff. Seemed to get even better in the post season as Arcadia advanced to the semi finals. 10-1 with 0.56 ERA.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_16760\" style=\"width: 410px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-16760\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-16760\" title=\"Alhambra- Montebello 008\" src=\"http:\/\/midvalleysports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/Alhambra-Montebello-008-400x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-16760\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Alhambra&#39;s Juan Morales: All Old School First Base<\/p><\/div>\n<p><strong>Pitcher: Angel Acosta (Gabrielino<\/strong>) &#8211; Acosta has been doing it since his freshman year. Acosta is fun to watch; always seems to have a smile on his face. 1.50 ERA with 109 strikeouts.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Catcher: Jonah Jarrard (Temple City)<\/strong> \u2013 Has been playing since T-Ball and it\u2019s easy to tell. Jarrard is as good as they come defensively throwing out potential base stealers with regularity. Oh yeah but the way he hit .382 with 18 RBI.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1B: Juan Morales (Alhambra)<\/strong> \u2013 Morales was absolutely scary at the plate hitting .392 with 10 extra base hits and 23 RBI while scoring 16 runs.<\/p>\n<div><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/div>\n<div id=\"attachment_16761\" style=\"width: 410px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-16761\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-16761\" title=\"ARC- ETI 5-31-11 001\" src=\"http:\/\/midvalleysports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/ARC-ETI-5-31-11-001-400x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" \/><\/strong><p id=\"caption-attachment-16761\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Arcadia&#39;s Nick Lemas: All Old School Coach of the Year <\/p><\/div>\n<p><strong>2B: Paul Cruz (Rosemead) \u2013<\/strong> Captain for the Panthers hit an incredible .509 and scored 16 runs. Cruz can play any of the infield positions but he\u2019s our second baseman on this team.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3B: Frankie Wright (Alhambra)<\/strong> \u2013 Supplied the power for the Moors like a third baseman should. .421 average with two bombs and 17 ribbies.<\/p>\n<p><strong>SS: Nick Bueno (Monrovia)<\/strong> \u2013 Believe it or not baseball is Bueno\u2019s best sport. You may even see him on the diamond at Cal Lutheran next year. He hit .411 with 25 stolen bases.<\/p>\n<p><strong>OF: Anthony Miller (Arroyo)<\/strong> \u2013 Two thirds of the earth is covered by water and the other third is covered by Anthony Miller. Rarely was there a ball hit in the air to center that Miller didn\u2019t run down. At the plate he was lead off hitter extraordinaire.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>OF: Ayman Nureldeen (Duarte)<\/strong> \u2013 Flew under the radar while playing for the Falcons. Was a terror at the plate batting .456 with 23 RBI.<\/p>\n<p><strong>OF: Brandon Benson (Arcadia)<\/strong> \u2013 Always seemed to be starting a rally for the Apaches. Led Arcadia in at bats while hitting a cool .342. He was as comfortable chasing down fly balls in the outfield as he was running on the base paths as he had six steals.<\/p>\n<div><strong><\/strong><\/div>\n<div id=\"attachment_16775\" style=\"width: 410px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-16775\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-16775\" src=\"http:\/\/midvalleysports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/MON-NOG-4-4-11-016-400x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" \/><\/strong><p id=\"caption-attachment-16775\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Arcadia&#39;s K.J. Edson: Player of the Year <\/p><\/div>\n<p><strong>Player of the Year:\u00a0K.J. Edson (Arcadia) &#8211;<\/strong> He was everything\u00a0that Coach\u00a0Nick Lemas asked for\u00a0and more.\u00a0He was\u00a0called on time after time to get a big win and always responded.\u00a0Was instrumental as the\u00a0ace in the Apaches&#8217; post season run.\u00a0Oh and by the way, he could hit too.\u00a0Edson finished the season with a .389 average. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Coach of the Year: Nick Lemas (Arcadia)<\/strong> \u2013 Really? Was there any question here? He led Arcadia on its longest post season run in the last two decades and he hasn\u2019t lost a Pacific League game since 2009. Lemas has turned Arcadia into one of the most dominant programs in the area.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>These are our picks for the all old school team.
