(San Gabriel) \u2013 Scott Brummett has resigned as Boys Basketball Coach at Gabrielino after 14 years on the job. Brummett is the only coach the Eagles have ever had. In the 14 year run his teams only missed the playoffs twice \u2013 in 1995, which was the first year of the varsity competition, and 2007.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u00a0 The Eagles won five Mission Valley League titles under Brummett, who will stay on as the Athletic Director.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u00a0 \u201cI have been truly blessed to have such outstanding young men come through the program at Gabrielino and this coming year is no exception,\u201d Brummett said. \u201cI have also\u00a0always had, and continue to receive, incredible support from the administration at GHS and I thank them for that. The fans and community have been wonderful.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u00a0 But Brummett did miss the time with his family.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u00a0 \u201cThat has made this an incredibly difficult decision. However, my own kids are growing up too fast. My oldest are sophomores in high school, and I look forward\u00a0to being around their games and activities more often. I have two younger kids who also have very active schedules,\u201d Brummett added.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
