(Glendale) – Heading into its Pacific League game against Glendale, Burroughs knew it needed to guard against coming out flat against the Nitros. The Indians needed a 35-point third quarter to pull clear of a pesky Glendale team to remain undefeated in league with a 70-34 win.

Zander Anding continues to impress with another unforgettable night as he rushed for 379 yards on 23 carries and five touchdowns. Anding also finished with three receptions for 40 yards and a score.

At one time during the night, the Nitros had tied Burroughs midway through the first quarter after a Kevin Vega burst up the middle from one-yard out.

With the score tied at 14, the Anding show began as he took the first play from play scrimmage 75-yards to put the Indians up for good at 21-14.

Burroughs extended its lead to 14 on Brad Hunt’s second touchdown of the evening from one-yard out. Hunt scored the Indians first touchdown of the night from 30-yards out.

While Anding continued to run all over the Glendale defense to the tune of 203 yards, the Indians defense silenced the Nitros main weapon of Michael Davis by holding him to just four catches for 64 yards and no receiving touchdowns.

Davis did strike in the first quarter returning the kickoff 93-yards for a touchdown while Glendale was down 14-0.

If there were any second half adjustments made by the Nitros defense, it sure didn’t deter Anding from continuing his assault on the ground. Anding opened up the second half Burroughs drive with a 47 yard touchdown.

On the Indians next series Anding capped off a seven-play drive when he was on the receiving end of a pass from Hunt from 21 yards outs.

For the second straight week, the Indians Special Teams recovered a “pooch” kick at its own 49-yard line after a Glendale player bobbled the ball.

Two plays later Anding scored from 41 yards out to turn the game into a blow-out.

The Indians would add on 14 more points late in the third quarter to turn a 15-point lead at the halftime break into a running clock scenario entering the fourth quarter.

Norton closed the scoring with a one yard run.

If the Nitros can take away anything from the loss it will be the Wheel Route which was executed to perfection with 2:50 remaining in the first half. Norton floated a perfectly thrown ball to a diving Alex Yoon for a 38 yard touchdown pass to cut the lead to seven.

Hunt played the entire game at quarterback for the Indians and filled in admirably for Eli Peppmuller finishing six of 14 for 129 yards and two touchdowns. One was to Peppmuller in the third quarter.

<colgroup>
<col span="2" width="58"></col>
<col width="27"></col>
<col width="24"></col>
<col span="4" width="58"></col>
<col width="144"></col>
</colgroup>

1

2

3

4

F

Burroughs

21

14

35

0

70

Glendale

14

7

7

6

34

SCORING:

at Moyse Stadium

Burroughs

Brad Hunt 30 run (Jario Gomez)

Burroughs

Zander Anding 21 run (Gomez)

Glendale

Michael Davis 93 kickoff return (Run fail)

Glendale

Kevin Vega 1 run (Christian Osorio run)

Burroughs

Anding 75 run (Gomez)

Burroughs

Hunt 1 run (Gomez)

Glendale

Alex Yoon 38 pass from Evan Norton (Martin Marin)

Burbank

Anding 5 run (Gomez)

Burbank

Anding 47 run (Gomez)

Glendale

Muhammad Akhtar 20 run (Marin)

Burroughs

Anding 21 pass from Hunt (Gomez)

Burroughs

Anding 41 run (Gomez)

Burroughs

Eli Peppmuller 51 pass from Hunt (Gomez)

Burroughs

Zach Hartman 34 Interception Return (Gomez)

Glendale

Norton 1 run (PAT Miss)

(Glendale) – Heading into its Pacific League game against Glendale, Burroughs knew it needed to guard against coming out flat against the Nitros.
