2012 will be Brandon Cox's third year as the PHS starting quarterback.<\/p><\/div>\n

(Pasadena)- One round ends and another begins. With the 2012 recruiting class inked, scouts are back on the trail creating wish lists and making offers. Including the University of Arizona.<\/p>\n

“I was just calling to get some information about the program,” said Pasadena quarterback Brandon Cox. “And Coach (Robert) Anae informed me that I was the number one quarterback on their recruiting board and they would like to offer me a scholarship.”<\/p>\n

The offer, which figures to be the first of many going forward for the talented passer, caught him by surprise.<\/p>\n

“It was unbelievable,” he said. “I was in shock. I’m so thankful and happy.”<\/p>\n

Former West Virginia and Michigan coach Rich Rodriguez was recently hired to run the Wildcats program. One of his former standouts at quarterback while at WV was a left-hander named Pat White who has a build similar to Cox.<\/p>\n

“It felt unbelievably good to finally get one. It shows that some of my hard work has finally paid off and I feel grateful and somewhat relieved at the same time. Now it’s time to work even harder,”\u00a0said Cox who always describes himself as a passer first.\u00a0“I had baseball practice so I couldn’t talk for much longer but I want to just build a good relationship with the coaching staff,”<\/p>\n

“Brandon is a great kid,” said Pasadena OC Michael McKay Tuesday night on “The Mid Valley Sports Show’. “You couldn’t be around anyone better.”<\/p>\n

In 2011 Cox accounted for nearly 3,500 yards of total offense and 39 touchdowns in leading the Bulldogs to the second round of the Southeast Division playoffs.<\/p>\n
