The Old School list is made up of the original 12 of the Mid Valley coverage area. As it has often been said; \u201cTo know where you\u2019re going, you have to remember where you\u2019ve been.\u201d So we will still keep a very soft spot, and a very close eye on the dozen we began with.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

1.) Monrovia: They weren\u2019t perfect against Arcadia, but they can potentially be very scary. Will need to go to the air before playoffs.<\/span><\/p>\n

2.) Arroyo: Tons of talent coming back, but this week\u2019s \u201cMid Valley Classic\u201d carries a cause of vengeance with it. Need to stay focused and let the defense destroy.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

3.) Temple City: I\u2019m not buying; new coach, new staff, and young players. There is an experienced offensive line with depth, a runner, and athletes. Better than they want us to think.<\/span><\/p>\n

4.) Rosemead: This is a little high for last season\u2019s finalists, but I don\u2019t want to give in to Koffler and rank them lower so parents and fans can seeth all year at us.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

5.) Alhambra: Should have beat Roosevelt. Come on Moors! Good team with too much talent not to have a special season.<\/span><\/p>\n

6.) San Gabriel: I never judge the Mats by season openers. Opening loss equals playoffs. Opening win equals gear turned in by second week of November.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

7.) El Monte: I like the quarterback Quang Phong, that\u2019s clear…but what are the pieces around him? Do you know the Lions have won all six of their season openers under Joel Sanchez?<\/span><\/p>\n

8.) Arcadia: Took some lumps against M-Town but should bounce back. They have to, Pacific play comes early.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

9.) Gabrielino: Right now should be focused on league play and October 16 showdown with El Monte. <\/span><\/p>\n

10.) Duarte: It wasn\u2019t nice in Cajon last week, it won\u2019t get any better in M-Town this week.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

11.) Mt. View: They have some size, youth, and Workman may be better than most think.<\/span><\/p>\n

12.) South El Monte: Where else would losing by 60 at \u201cThe Swamp\u201d place you? The road up begins here.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
