The offense has seemed to find a groove. If all else fails, give the ball to Peter Aholoka. El Monte’s offense is clicking, that isn’t the problem. The question for the Lion faithful is how many more shootouts can they win? The defense has to make some plays at some point. Expect a lot of points Friday night but Arroyo’s defense makes the most stops. It was the last game of the season and it irked the Panthers all off season long. In one of Rosemead’s first practices last spring, Panther HC Marc Paramo kept shouting “33-31!, 33-31!” at his players while they went through drills hoping that the hurt of the loss would sting and motivate for this year. The Panthers had a bitter loss last week as well against Temple City while South was falling to San Marino. The Eagles get a quarterback back in transfer Levi Wells, so the offense should be better. Rosemead’s defense should be up to the task. It’s really a flip of the coin. It lands Rosemead.

Rosemead 17 South El Monte 14

Rio Hondo League

Monrovia (3-2) at South Pasadena (4-1)

Last Year: Monrovia 34-22

Some people think that Monrovia’s win over St. Francis wasn’t that big.
