(Montebello) – Eric Perez and Abel Troncozo combined for 347 yards and four touchdowns to lead Schurr to a\u00a028-7 win over Montebello Friday night at Ken Davis Field.<\/p>\n
Marcus Portillo’s 47 ayrd run set up a 30 yard field goal attempt on Montebello’s first drive but the kick sailed wide left.<\/p>\n
The Spartans first score came on\u00a0a 40 yard Perez run late in the first quarter.<\/p>\n
Later in the quarter, Troncozo capped a long drive with a 14 yard run to paydirt for a 14-0 lead.<\/p>\n
Perez crossed the goal line from three yards out\u00a0to finish a 70 yard drive for a 21-0 advantage.<\/p>\n
M0ntebello finally got on the board midway through the fourth quarter when Matt Saenz found Michael Juarez in the back of the endzone making it 21-7.<\/p>\n
The Spartans then iced it when\u00a0Troncozo scored his second touchdown of the game late in the fourth.<\/p>\n
Schurr’s defense had eight sacks including three by Sal Chavez. Perez ran for 206 yards and\u00a0two touchdowns while Troncozo ran for 141 yards and\u00a0two scores.<\/p>\n
The Oilers offense was led by Saenz who\u00a0completed 14 0f 20\u00a0for for 168 yards and a touchdown. Simeon Poggi\u00a0picked off a pass for Montebello on defense.<\/p>\n
Both\u00a0Schurr (4-6, 3-2) and Montebello\u00a0(6-4, 3-2) will get in the playoffs as second and third place teams respectively in the Almont. The Mid-Valley Division brackets come out on Sunday.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
